They called here twice; I answered the 2nd time. It's CBE GROUP and they were searching for someone unknown to collect on a debt. Asked them to remove our number. Not sure they will but I do know our NC Atty General's name and address!

I am getting several calls a day, no messages.  REMOVE MY NAME FROM YOUR CALL LIST.  I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU AND NEVER WILL!!!

It is highly doubtful that your callers are reading here also. We can't stop anyone from calling you either or remove from a list.

***A company must be licensed in their state as well as the one they are trying to collect in if two different states are involved.

Some Tips:
*Keep all messages
*Take a picture of your Caller ID
*Keep any and all conversations recorded to your states recording laws, some require they be told, others do not. This can be transferred to a recording device.
*Keep a notebook handy for writing time,date, who you spoke with and what the conversation detailed.
*Check your SOL for your state as well.
*Attorneys need to be licensed as a DC to collect, all DC's must be licensed in their state as well as yours if different.

They have called my home 4 times a day for the last 2 weeks

Stop calling!!!!

I have changed my number and address, they have obtained my personal info. Pre bankruptcy I suppose. I have gotten over twenty five calls in the last two days to my CELL phone from them. They will not stop calling, I can't make outgoing calls because they keep cross calling and no one is providing info. This is harassment.

Hey Annoyed in Co...just thought I would let you know, I don't want to change my number that I have had for years, so now when those Microsoft people from India call me and tell me there is something wrong with my computer...I tell them I don't have a computer! LOL It totally baffles them and they don't know what to say, so they simply hang up!

I get calls from cbe group but they never leave a message. Even when they were told to stop calling they still did. What can I do?

First read through my post above. The info for this company has been posted on page 21, read CWG40's post. Follow the steps in what you need to know and send a cease & desist via USPS mail, certified return, receipt.

CBE called my ex mother in law and told her I gave them her phone number as a contact number...That's a lie.. I haven't been married to her son in 30 years. The lady is old and very sick and the more she ask them to stop the calls the more they call. 205 4284725. My ex husband is ready to get a lawyer and Sue CBE for Elderly Harassment. I told this company I don't have a payday loan on line but the calls keep on coming.

877=863=2161 They have been calling my other phone which is used by my son. The person they were actually looking for has the same first and last name initials as he does, but the resemblance ends there. Oh, and they were looking for a woman. I would think his voicemail message would have given them a clue, because it's obviously a young man with a definitely non feminine name.
I found this out after calling them back on the above number. The young man I spoke to was civil and said he would take the number off their call list. But they had no concrete reason to call in the first place; both my numbers are on the national no call list. Why should I have to take the time to tell them they have the wrong number? I'm thinking it's all automated phishing.

This number calls me constantly and never leaves a message ! I have called several times to be put on hold , I finally got through and they are looking for someone else . They continue to call and when I answer no one responds.  It's harassment at this point !

Caller left automated message saying the "IRS is suing 'you' ". Gave me a number in DC to call back, no answer! Didn't give a name of who the IRS was suing. They do not sue you! They bill you, and take out of your refund! Been there!
This is FRAUD! BE CAREFUL! The call came from from Iowa, not Pennsylvania. They told me to call a Washington number, not Pennsylvania.
They must think they are dealing with newbie.
