Got same email today for my CL post. Same number and email from "Rick Smith" went as far as giving email for paypal but not address. What a waste of my time on moving day.

Just got hit with same scam - glad I checked here.

I just had the same response for a marble top dresser and got the exact same thing. I wish there was a way to put this person behind bars because I'm sure this person has scammed people.

SCAM:  Rick smith 512-548-7550 DO NOT BE SCAMMED!!!  Every time someone says they are out of town or in some remote area and they want to purchase something using PayPal I say, "I only buy from locals."  This usually shuts them down. This guy had a local number though so I pressed on. Once he wrote me this back I knew it was the same scam, different name, but this time a local number.

I new this fool was a fraud. I just got the same exact email from him.  I listed 2 things on Craigslist over the past week and the same thing has happened with both listings from 2 different people. I use to love craigslist and now it's ruined by people like these idiots.

You would think he would at least change his name.

Just received the same email this morning trying to pull the same scam.

I listed a bedroom set on Craigslist. First reply from Rick Smith of Turner Construction. I sent more photos as he was buying this "as a surprise".

So glad I Googled the name! Shouldn't this guy get a different name and story set up? It's getting a little old.

Sorry....I forgot to include Rick Smith from Turner Construction text me from 314-641-1793. Same exact story.....currently working in a rural area, hard to make phone calls, he has a mover that will come pick up the furniture, a few questions, same story as everyone else!

I am sad that craigslist has turned into a huge scam. It used to be a great way to buy and sell locally.
