Called and didn't say anything. Called them back and it said "First National Collection Bureau"

Called and hung up after a couple rings, left no message. When I called back, automated system put me in a short queue and routed me to a phone rep for First National Collection Bureau

They called I said hello 3 times then they hung up. Called back and call was routed First National Collection Bureau .

Received a call from then and no one said anything and then hung up. Called back and they said that it was First National Collection Bureau.

They called twice at 11:37 am then 12:12 pm. Left no message...

It's First National Collection Bureeau. They called trying to get a hold of my mother-in-law because she used my spouse and I as a referral on a loan she defaulted on. They said they will remove our number from their database so we will see if they keep their word.

When I answered the phone hung up, called it back and it was First National Collection, told them they had wrong number, told me they would remove my number.

Sounds like another portfolio recovery.  They call several times a day using different numbers and caller ID

***A company must be licensed in their state as well as the one they are trying to collect in if two different states are involved.

Some Tips:
*Keep all messages
*Take a picture of your Caller ID
*Keep any and all conversations recorded to your states recording laws, some require they be told, others do not. This can be transferred to a recording device.
*Keep a notebook handy for writing time,date, who you spoke with and what the conversation detailed.
*Check your SOL for your state as well.
*Attorneys need to be licensed as a DC to collect, all DC's must be licensed in their state as well as yours if different.

On the trail. This is not the place to bring up political agenda's. I do not care who they are.   Until the info is updated on the sites given, it stands. It truly does not matter in the long run though, its a moot point bottom line!  There are FDCPA violations involved here regardless.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

I didn't bring up their political agenda or their partisan affiliation, since I don't care about that. But what about a government official who appears to be profiting handsomely from a business that routinely thumbs its nose at the law and harasses thousands of innocent people every month? We should be allowed to mention that here. Maybe a bit of public shaming will get them to clean up their act, since the rinky-dink $1000 FDCPA lawsuits aren't doing it.
