I got a call from that number today, Talent Hollywood.  I wonder how they got my cell phone number. They asked for me by name. The gentleman said I had filled out the application, Which I know I did not. He said maybe someone I know gave my name. That is very doubtful. I believe this to be a scam.

got a call from the same person, stating that i could make 700.00 per day, for me, and 300.00 for my yorkie. what a terrible thing to do to people.

@shana, NO, legitimate agencies do NOT ask for money from you!! They will want you to give them headshots and a resume, and getting those things will cost you money, but that money goes to the photographer and the resume writer, not the agency.

The exception would be if the agency has a division in their company that does those things, and you choose to use their services. But you are not required to use them. If you have a friend who can take great photos, and you know how to put together your own resume, then you can save that money. You'll only have to pay to print them out.

Anyway, bottom line, when you're applying for a job that will pay YOU -- giving an audition is to apply for an acting/singing/dancing job -- then you should never be the one the pay THEM!

Ha! You have no business posting here, you bloodsucker!! Sure, you offer all the "services" you claim to, but you still have people making these unwanted, harassing phone calls with the intention of pressing people into buying something they don't want and can't afford. You would do a lot of good for your stinky reputation if you'd do away with these calls, and just let people find you on their own. But I'm sure my recommendation falls on deaf ears/blind eyes, because your intent is clear: PROFITING from desperate people, many unemployed and in no position to spend this kind of money! I don't know how you can look yourself in the mirror and not vomit.

David, you obviously think we are idiots. Everyone here knows you are employed BY Explore Talent! You may be a wanna-be actor yourself, but you make your living working for Explore! DUH! You're probably one of the people who has been making these outrageous telemarketing calls to half the people posting here. You're disgusting.

Use your common sense, protect yourself, and just send good snapshots (face and full-length) with a cover letter to legitimate talent agents. If you have the look they want, they'll call you. Also, join an acting or modeling class to improve your skills, and start networking with other people in the business (or trying to be in the business). Stop thinking that taking a non-paying gig is a waste of time. If you can fit it into your schedule, take ANY gig (that doesn't go against your conscience). Every acting experience is valuable, even if all you do is end up making a new contact in the industry. That's something that could pay off for you in the future.

I have a friend in L.A. who does plays, independent films, and TV shows. She has to really hustle to get work, but that's how it's done. She's been working without an agent, but she has finally decided to get one. And believe me, she won't be paying a dime for the opportunity! The agent will make money by getting her work and taking a percentage of her pay. Anyone who claims that method doesn't work is full of crap! It works. It's just that there are just a few jobs to be had, but tons of people who want them.

It's competition that makes it hard to get a job, not the searching for opportunities. All Explore Talent does is help you search. Big whoop! Not worth what they charge. Not by far!! DO NOT PAY A DIME TO EXPLORE TALENT! IF YOU DO, YOU'LL REGRET IT!

A so called Derek Thomas (from Hollywood/323-785-2010) called me asking for money. He also told me that more than 1100 people in Philadelphia had looked into my profile and that I should immediately update. This is a total scam! I do not know how these things are working over here as I am from Europe but going to the police would be a good start.
