Thank you. Called 800#, transferred to customer service and will be removed from call list.  They were calling regarding daughter's magazine subscription.

You need to understand that the people calling you are not the bad guys - we all need money in these times and many people are willing to do anything - even telemarking - to make ends meet.  Please be sure that when you are voicing your complaints you do so with EBSCO the company, and not directly with the individual calling you.  I work in customer service, not with EBSCO, but it's especially frustrating when someone yells at me because the book they bought at our store was not what they expected.  I did not write the book, I have nothing to do with the price, I simply work for minimum wage doing the best I can to satisfy the customer.

I think everyone needs to work customer service for a year - it teaches you a lot about people.

They call, goes to answering machine, they hang up - when you call it goes into voicemail hell and you can leave a message but they want more information than I want to give - the message says they're doing something for magazines?  I take all the magazines I want and I KNOW their subscription dates and don't need these clowns calling me at all!!!

Called their toll-free number: 1-800-456-5105, transferred to customer service, professional and friendly call (it was about a legitimate magazine subscription I have) and asked to have my number removed.  Again, easy and friendly.

called the 800 number and they took my name off the list,, it was in regard to a subscription to a mag  that was expiring,, just call the number and they do it,, no need for anger at them,,

It's 8:00 pm here; why would you be calling so late anyhow? I don't expect any calls from you, so I am not going to answer. For a customer that's on the NO CALL LIST, I sure do get a lot of calls that I am not supposed to be getting. This is such a pain. Quit wasting my and your time.

Just received a call from this number with a hangup when I answered the phone... CALLED back the number and was told they were looking for my husband re an expired subscription. I requested our number be taken out of their system - was assured it would be and it would take about 24 hours to process through the system.  Spoke w/Nicole

Don't say what they want and called me at 7:20 in the evening! I'm disabled and can't be running to the phone for this stupidy!

I called the number you posted for customer service and all I got was a recorded message, no live person to talk to about taking my number off of your call list. This is getting VERY annoying; I get at least one call a day from you people. If I want to re-subscribe to magazine I will, I don't need you calling me every day to try and persuade me. I don't care if you think you're exempt from the DO NOT CALL list, its still very annoying and only going to produce negative results.

Keeps calling, no one is there when I pick up.

Calls are between 7:45 and 9pm every night...hangs up when I say "hello".

I received 2 calls so far, out of the blue. No messages left.

Ebsco is just one of many who claims the Do Not Call list doesn’t apply to them because... pick any excuse. They may as well say it doesn’t apply to them because the person calling had a hair appointment that day or because they couldn’t go shopping last week. Each excuse is more pathetic than the last.

Ebsco’s comment that they use computers to call is an admission that they’re guilty of violation of law since if they’re using computers to call, they’re using auto-dialers.

The Do Not Call list means just what the name flat out says. If we wanted these calls, we wouldn’t be on the list in the first place. We don’t care whether there is a “person” on the end or not that dials. They don’t even “get the message” when their number is blocked or when the message the Caller ID gives them says, “This number is not accepting YOUR calls,” and then hangs up on them.

I am NOT going to tell whoever to take me off their list because when we say do not call, we MEAN do not call and a Do Not Call list does NOT mean DO call anyway, just because you FEEL like it.

The fact that you have a subscription DOES give them the right to call even if you are on the DNC list. It's in the fine print of the law. They're allowed to call if they have "an established business relationship" with you.

Annoying nonetheless. (I work on a switchboard and answer calls like this one all day. I'm not defending them, just clarifying why they continue to harass.)

They are M.A.D. (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) they are selling magazines to raise money to promote their campaign.

I got called from a number of these magazine services, tried to get them to stop calling to no avail.  I finally wrote to the president of TV Guide, whose magazine gave them my phone number and name, and complained to them.  I haven't had a call since.

But now this company is calling my work number continuously, and when I answer there is no one on the line.  I do not have time to be answering lots of telemarketing calls at work.  I think this is terribly rude of them.  I've had at least 4 calls today.  I called the 800 number and no one answered.

I got a call from them this evening, while we were at Pack Night.  On my answering machine, I hear "Hello?" - pause - "Hello?" - another pause, accompanied by background noise and discussion - "Hello?" - then a click.  Not a robo-call, a live person who apparently either does not understand the magic of modern technology or does not care how unprofessional she appears when she leaves a nothing-message like that.  I have some magazine subscriptions, and while I am not sure about which one EBSCO was calling, I am 110% positive that I will not be dealing with them in ANY fashion, simply because of their sheer ignorance and lack of professionalism.  The next time they call, I hope I am here to answer it so I can have myself removed from their list - better yet, I think I will look up their mailing address so I can send them a certified letter stating as much.  I've found it's always best to have proof - that way they can't come back and say I never informed them.  If I inform them to remove me and still get calls, I can then report them to the FTC as being in violation of the edicts of the Federal DNC List - and I will have proof backing me up.

Not to mention the fact that many companies frown upon non-business calls coming in for employees.  I've known people who have actually lost their jobs over situations similar to yours.  If I may make a suggestion.....write to EBSCO and demand that they remove your business contact information as well as any other contact information from their list.  They cannot harass you at work - I believe that goes against the Federal DNC List edicts - so get it in writing that you informed them to stop, make sure it goes certified so you have evidence that it was received, and if they keep calling then file a complaint.  They're not worth risking your job, your livelihood, over, know what I mean?
