Yes, it's Medicaid.  Yes, they are obnoxious and don't seem to take a hint that people don't appreciate people calling when it comes to their health care benefits.

One of the few I've decided to use the call block feature, since it's the only number they call from.

They have been calling for about the past month.  They never leave a message.  The phone # that they have been calling is on the Do Not Call list.

According to the University of Floria, Christopher McCarty, Ph.D. <chrism@bebr.ufl.edu> at 352-392-2908 x 101 is the Program Director of Survey Research of the Bureau of Economic and Business Research from where these annoying and illegal telephone calls are originating from.  Scott Richards <scottr@bebr.ufl.edu> is the Coordinator of Programming and Research, Mark Girson <markg@bebr.ufl.edu> is the Project Manager,
Armando Padilla <armandop@bebr.ufl.edu> is another Project Manager, and last, but not least, Joel Montero <joelm@bebr.ufl.edu> is Special Projects.

I called them back and asked them to remove my number.... that I didn't know anyone on Medicaid.  It took only a minute or two.

They're calling my cell phone, I just told the guy that called he has no business calling my cell phone,  asking for information & wasting my minutes. I want to know who gave permission to give my name and number out. If it is a Medicaid calling list they're making calls from, what happened to HIPPA laws?

They cleary don't take no for an answer, they continue to call back anyway.  Next time I'm telling them I am reporting them to the police for using state communication lines for harassment purposes.  I'm not above telling someone to "[***] off" no matter how sweet they try to be.

These [***] have been calling me for a month. I was finally able to answer the call and I just spoke to the guy today. He says he is from UF, but who really knows. He asked me if this was a good time to speak with me or was I driving. So they are targeting cell phones for sure. I told him I was on the DNC list. He explained to me that the DNC does not apply to them. WTF?!?!? How are they exempt? He asked me why I was not willing to help with his study. I told him "How do I know it isn't BS, and how do I know even if I help you will take me off the list afterward?" He then gave me a number to call and speak with a supervisor. I was shocked. I am calling now to get to the bottom of this. I will post that conversation later. If anyone wants to call the number is 888.536.2434

I called the number back after missing 5 calls from them today and it is the University of Florida research center. I'm not on Medicaid so I don't know what in the world they want but i'm sure not worried about helping out the University of Florida, Go Hurricanes!

Medicaid has asked the university to evaluate the program and they dont even ask you about your personal business and any question that you would not feel comfortable answering you can skip, and they recieved the numbers from medicaid and all of the information is kept confidential and it doesn't violate any HIPPA laws, for your information.

Once again, they said they were calling from UF.  They wanted to speak with people with home based offices.  She mentioned my number was randomly selected.  I do have a home based business, but once I confirmed that, she wanted to speak with a male 18 or older.  What does that have to do with my home based business?  I told her that I didn't feel her inquiry was legitemate and hung up.  How can a university condone such a program?
