Threats, Annoyance, Endless Calls

Very annoying, they wont stop calling.

Keeps calling 10 times a day even though you tell them you do not want them too.  They try to say your number was randomly picked.  What is this??

What threats??  The lady I spoke with was very nice and explained how important these surveys are.

The girl who called me was very polite and professional. She did a good explaining who they are calling on behalf of, the department of health. I KNOW that the survey is legit and you should want to help you community by providing answers to these very general questions. It won't hurt I promise.

Lady refused to stop calling unless she spoke to the man of the household. Luckily my husband was home sick, so I handed the phone to him, who told her we weren't interested and that he was going to hang up. She wanted the eldest male, but my 91 year old partially deaf father would've just hung up on her, too.

I keep getting these calls over and over.  TEN and MORE times a day and at ALL times.  This time when I picked it up without FIRST looking at the Caller ID - UNKNOWN NAME and number... she said she was from the Montana Department of Health and Human Services (?!?) and her name was 'HEATHER'.

I told her that it was NOT a MT area code, saw the number many times, to please stop calling me, that it was not a MT place, to cease and desist calling here - I HUNG UP before she had a chance to say one more word and/or to reply to me.

Cease and Desist - they have been warned for the last time.

I plan on reporting this to the telephone company.

There are a lot of scams going on now - same with those FL calls with all kinds of FL area codes.

This number has been calling without any message left (open line then hang up) for the past 30 days while I was away on business (that is the extent of the answering machine memory). The date/time stamps show at least 10 calls a day, at all hours (starting at 7 am to 11 pm). The calls maxed out the machine memory so any legitimate call was not recorded. I am shocked to see the history listed above. Doesn't the federal do-not-call registry work? My number has been registered there since its onset. As a result of this annoyance calling number, I have switched from a home machine to subscribing to my phone providers answering services. These annoyance calls have to be illegal, invasion of privacy, similar to the US Attorney going after those "car warrantee" scam folks. Anyone have any other suggestions?

This survey helps to determine how federal funds are spent - it identifies how health behaviors are related to different diseases and disabilities.  If you ever see on the TV that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says, "X% of people have high blood pressure / diabetes / etc," this information is likely coming from this survey.

If it is a survey call, being on the do not call list doesn't matter.  If they are selling something they can still call you.

You're all idiots. Listen to yourselves talking about how it's a conspiracy.  It's hilarious that you want to report them to a telephone agency.  "Please help, they keep wanting my OPINIONS."  I used to work at a place that does the BRFS studies when I was in college, they're legit.  They did get your number randomly.  They use known prefixes, then do the last four digits randomly. Once a number is considered a working telephone number they try to dial you a certain amount of times.

Oh, and UNMC calls FOR Montana, not from.  Isn't it hard to be angry when you don't know what you're angry about?

The survey is a GOOD thing to do.  Unless of course, you don't want **gasp** your OPINIONS to be heard.

Funny thing is that a lot of people you know are probably calling you for the survey (it's a local effort).

Uh, you are missing the point. If they are not wanted or call repeatedly w/o leaving a message, that's an annoyance and harassment. Legit or not. Frankly, it is none of their business. Based on the feedback here, a waste of my tax dollars.

Get a life. If they are not transparent, then there is a level of secrecy. That's far from what I call "American".

Those of us who DO NOT WANT TO PARTICIPATE in this survey and I have told them I don't want to participate and yet they still call are called Idiots by actual IDIOTS in these postings.   Why are they (BRFS)  not respectful of my answer of DO NOT CALL ME and I DON'T WANT TO GIVE OUT MY PERSONAL INFORMATION.  Typical of government run crap and waste of tax dollars.   Their constant calling is not free because it is not a toll-free number they are calling from.  So therefore this is just another wasteful way of using taxpayer money.  Why the secrecy under "unknown caller".  

What a bunch of blockheads you people are that are chastizing us who CHOOSE to access our freedoms by not answering a government sponsered inquiry.  IT IS NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS - PERIOD.  But if you morons want to participate and give out your personal information then go ahead.

Woman just called - Caller ID says Unknown Name.  She started in on a survey pitch and I just told her that I never participated in something whose Caller ID said Unknown Name and hung up.  She called back immediately, but I let it ring through.  No message left.  

I don't care if they are legitimate or not.  When they pay for my phone service, then they can call me.
