- Nat'lBornskeptkSurvey, might be interesting. did not know this. If this is true would be one way to give inform people making decisions. Of course you can go to the doctor and refuse to tell them what the problem is and then blame them for lousy treatment also. That way you can sit home and [***] either way. Guess its just a cheap way to make yourself feel better than everyone else. Guess I will answer next time they call to find out if they are legit. If not I will whine like the rest of you crazy [***].
- Informed & Educated replies to Murph| 1 replyYou are aware that how some one appears on your caller ID is not controlled by them. This is all related to how the phone companies and relay switches process information. As a matter of fact, for some people this number comes up DHHS, others Healther and Human Services, some it shows the phone number, and yet for others the caller is says Unknown or Unavailable. You can't hold that against them.
- mahp| 1 replyThe survey is sexist. If you say there is an older adult male they do not want to talk to you if you're an adult female. My opinion didn't matter. I told them do not call back. I hung up promptly after that. Half a year later, they still call. They can listen to my answering machine all they want. I muted their number.
- Sandra| 1 replyThe message I got said the call was from Montana Health and Human Services. I do not think it is legit, because I have not given the phone number they called to anyone locally--BUT the caller can tell by the number where it's located and say the right state name. Any legitimate state service would have called my land line, which is listed in the phone book and is all I have ever given any agency. QED
- Caller: Montana Health and Human Services
- Sick & Tired of Being HarassedI don't want any unsolicited phone calls period! Remove my number and leave me alone!
- Call type: Survey
- Sandra| 1 replyOn another reverse number search website, I found out that this caller has to do with research which someone who posted there said resulted in a multi-million dollar grant to help some sector of school children, something to do with asthma. One woman was harrassed to put her 18-year-old son on the phone for the survey after she had already said she would not do so. They all said it was a health study in Nebraska...so why am I getting repeated phone calls from the same number since early November in Montana?
I don't think there is anyone anywhere who would advise you to give out personal health information over the phone for a survey when you have no proof of who it is or how the info will be used, any more than you would your social security number, etc. Wake up, America!- Caller: Unknown
- Informed & Educated replies to mahpThe survey is not at all sexist. They ask for the total number of adults, 18 years of age or older, then ask how many are men and how many are women. The computer then will determine who to speak with in the household. The computer system keeps track of how many men and how many women are polled. Therefore, if 100 women have already been polled and only 50 men, the computer will more than likely select the male of the household to even out the balance.
- Informed & Educated replies to SandraWhen they call and you have doubts about it being legit you are referred to a toll free number to call as well as web sites to verify if they are legit or not. The web sites are www.cdc.gov/brfss which is the web site for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (U.S. Government), www.dhhs.ne.gov/brfss which is the web site for the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, and www.dphhs.mt.gov/brfss which is the web site for the Montana Department of Health and Human Services.
As for how numbers appear on caller ID, this is controlled by the phone companies and not the actual source from where the call is orgininating. From what you indicated, it is apparent they called you on a cell phone. Where you aware they do a cell phone study because they are finding a portion of the population who have cell phones also do not have land lines. They do a study specificically for these peopld so they are not missed and to get a better representation of the public. Had you stayed on the line with them long enough, not only would they have validated they were legit with you, because you had a land line you would not have qualified for the interview anyway.
From my research, they do not operate from a "list". They have the area code, as well as the prefix, then the last four digits are generated at random. - Informed & Educated replies to SandraThese studies have been conducted in each state for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for around 20 years. Not every state has a call center for conducting these interviews. Therefore, it's possible the call may come from out of state.
So what do you consider "personal" health information. If you go to www.cdc.gov/brfss you can see an actualy copy of the interview quesiton. And when I did the interview I was told I didn't have to answer any quesiton I didn't want to. I didn't find the questions to be intrusive at all. And, they did not ask for any personal information such as name, address, or social security number so they have no way to identify who I am.
The information we provide helps improve health education, can lead kids down the right path for eating healthy and exercising, and in the end can indirectly save lives. You are right 'Sandra' "Wake Up America', why participate in something that may help improve our lives and possibly save lives. - Tired of the Jerks at 402-471-1671 replies to pshawThey can't take a hint...call at all hours, hounding.
I said clearly I AM NOT INTERESTED
They must be hard up... - Scammers replies to pshawWhat crap...they are just preying on old folks
- Sir BenDover. This is just ONE of the endless numbers that started calling THE VERY DAY I sign up for the Charter Communications bundle package 179.99$ plus tax (actually 215.00). I think, Charter gets a very large kick-back from this bundle package “deal“? I’m even listed at the DoNotCallRegistry (another scam) and still receive countless annoying calls, even after filing repeated complaints. More WASTED TAX MONEY for this useless program. Read the fine print, “not all calls are considered “tell markers or solicitors’” so they can KEEP calling? ! I even was going to have my number unlisted until I was told it would cost another 60.00$ a year. OMG??????? Shafted at every turn. One way or another.
So again the only thing I can actually do is, BEND OVER AND TAKE IT UP THE KEYSTER, just let the phone ring and expect them to call again, its all set up for your best interest by BigBrother.
I believe if anyone calls repeatedly dose or dose not leave a message more than 3times in one year, and receives no call back the number should be removed and not called again, Forever.
IF I’M NOT INTERESTED IN WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY/SELL/TRAID/ IDEAS- WHAT THE HELL EVER, THEN TAKE THE HINT AND STOP CALLING, remove the number and consider it my loss. Don’t go away mad, just go away.- Caller: unknown nane
- LilI didn't fill out their survey when it came in the mail. I figured my name and address would be
sold to companies wanting to know if we bought their products. I didn't want to be bothered by surveys, more junk mail or unwanted phone calls.
So they called. I answered since it was a Sunday evening and who calls on Sunday but family. I didn't turn the light on so couldn't see the ID. So I did the survey. She was polite and fast but never again. - Made in MontanaCall saying from Montana, NOT, from Nebraska. Calls over and over and over. No male head of house, guess they think one will just magically appear. Would be nice, NOT.... Im over 80 and still have a life. Wish they would get one.
- Coleen GardinerI continue to see calls from this number, but since the caller never leaves a message, I have no idea who is calling or....what they are calling about. Is there a way to get my number removed from their call list??
- Caller: UNKNOWN

- D. replies to Montana ResidentUnfortunately, I don't think the Do Not Call list applies to surveys.
- becky2 replies to Montana ResidentAlso in MT - you're showing the number to be 402-471-1617 and the number searched was 402-471-1671. I have gotten these calls numerous times and am seeking a way to "get in the back door" to cut them off.
- thuntlol people do you really think the cdc (fed gov) is going to honor the fed gov. no call list? heck no.
last year i got calls wanting to survey everyone for education, about a month before they voted to spend money on new schols in my area. they won, spent the money, the calls stopped.
Are you really surprised they are spending money to educate everyone on the need for more medical spending, just before 2012 and more of obama care comes into effect?
Answer the phone, say yes to everything, they are just trying to protect their 6 figure jobs. IF your unemployed right now, say yes anyway. Maybe they can get you a high paying job in the next phase of borrowing/spending, on our way to bankrupcy.
The no call list was just designed to put legitimate north american companies out of business. The goverment and predatory charities can still harass the heck out of you. Lol you know im right.- Caller: cdc
