Thats definetly a number or call from apple headquarters in san jose, LA.
I had recently got a wier experience regarding my iPhone issue and had a bad experience at apple send-in repair service. So I had emailed to timcook office, Ya I literally emailed them, and email I got from google. It was week before I emailed and next week after email I got is a phone call from this number.
They explained to me that they recieved my email and were investigating the issue I had, they even had all the details of my iPhone which I had send into for repair.
They were pretty kind and infact at the end of the call I was glad that someone listened to my query at the highest level and got responded me back.
So ya, its not a spam, you would have contacted apple in any sort in past and so they might have contacted you back.

I received a call from this number. When I answered, the guy asked if I was interested in carpet cleaning. I said I didn't have a carpet. He replied, "Do you think this is a scam? This is not a scam." I hung up.

They called back twice more and I did not answer.

Called me at 10:15 pm our time! How rude!! Caller ID said Apple Inc

My friend who works for Apple must have tried to call me. We happened to be messaging each other when I got a missed call from this number.

Ive received 3 calls from this number today. The first call was a robot telling my answering machine that my "iCloud security has been breached." I do not have my iCloud preferences set up let alone do I even use it. Second call I picked up and got nobody, third call i just denied the call from my phone and shut the answering recorder machine off.

This people are representing themselves as APPLE, INC.
They are so stupid with this scam that my Apple Cloud has been compromised and they are the only ones who can help me.
Happens that I hate APPLE products. I do not have any APPLE products nor I plan to use them.
I have similar situation with MICROSOFT. They even threaten me to destroy my devices if I do not complain with their payment demands.
Be aware that these ones are just are scam..

Scammer spoofing Apple's number - caller ID is 14089961010

getting many calls from this number leaving message they are from apple.  Got same message from another number .  I will not answer them, only answered 1.

Called twice in an hour. Didn't answer. Caller ID says Apple Inc. message says " if you wish to talk to a support advisor calll 888-994-1388 or press 1 to talk to someone now".  The caller ID is obviously spoofed cuz it's Apple's number. I subscribe to KimKomando emails and just today she warned about 5 phishing scams and this is one of them. The others include the FBI and Homeland Security, both spoofing the legitimate phone number. Do Not Answer.

This number keeps calling me at least 10 times.  3 times I picked up hit option 1 got customer service, asked what this about and they hang up.  One call was on hold for quite awhile then someone disconnected call.   STOP calling me!   Some needs to be making these calls that can speak English that can be understood!!!!!!

Received a call from this same con artist earlier today from 205-217-7000. Left the exact same message.  I hope people aren't stupid enough to fall for this scam.

I've never received a call from this number but a recent attempt  was made to use my credit card from someone associated with this number (408 996 1010).  My credit card's fraud protection service intercepted and denied an attempt to make the purchase.

Yup just received the 408 number. They tried to get me to log on. Strange it was 10 minutes after I did an update on firefox. Might just be a coincidence.

recorded Call from "Molly" at Apple saing I have a security breach on the Apple I-Cloud. press1 to talk to a person or 2 to hang up.  I hung up the first couple of times they called. After 4 calls, I pressed 1 and it sounded like a very noisey call center. I told them to stop calling, I dont have an Apple or Apple I-Cloud!

Mike, if you Google (408)996-1010 it shows that number belongs to APPLE but it is NOT anyone from Apple calling you....It's a SCAM to get your credit card number and other info.

It has called me five and six times a day for the last five days, and the caller ID even shows that it's Apple calling...It is NOT!!  That number has somehow been HACKED!!

Robocall about "your iCloud account being breached." The phished phone number is the main Apple HQ number for 1 Infinite Loop, Cupertino, CA.  Looks like the scammers have entered into another market, Apple.  Too bad I do not have an iCloud account. I thought Apple doesn't have any malware or viruses??!?!?  Apparently, the Rolls Royce of computer equipment, CAN get a flat tire!  :-)

I have received calls from (408)996-1010 for the last five days and my caller ID shows "APPLE".  Sadly it is NOT from Apple or a representative of Apple.  That number has somehow been HACKED!!

I called APPLE using a different phone number.  I told the representative that  I was calling to verify that it was actually someone from Apple trying to contact me.  I explained that I did NOT own any Apple products and was wondering WHY they would do that and that I found it quite odd.

After verifying my email address and name to check their files, the Customer Support person agreed that it was odd. When nothing showed up under my email address,  she asked if I would be willing to investigate it further by answering the next time I received a call from that number to see what they were calling for.  (I had previously told her that I did not answer these calls).

I told her yes and she gave me directions for what to do if, indeed, the call was a HACKER 'spoofing' Apples phone number.  Oddly enough, as we were in the middle of our conversation, another call was coming through from (408)996-1010 with the caller ID showing "APPLE".  She told me to answer it and see what was going on.

When I answered a voice message said...(sounded like an electronic voice over)...." Hi, my name is Molly from Apple Customer Support.  Your  I-phone or I-Cloud account has been compromised.  DO NOT use your Apple products before contacting us at (888)994-1388.  Your account is no longer secure, contact us immediately."

When I clicked back over on my phone's call waiting, to speak with Megan (the REAL Apple employee), we had been disconnected. So, I will follow her instructions as we had previously discussed.  Hopefully, Apples Tech team can figure a way to put an end to this. ,(Let's hope anyway).

I felt sharing this information with all you people on here took a priority,  so that you can spread the word to friends and family that might fall for this SCAM and inadvertently give out their personal information or worse, credit card numbers to these low-life!!!!
