- MegAnother "lower interest rates" call. I know how they work now so as soon as the spiel started I pressed "1." When the live human came on the line he said "Are you responding to lower your interest rates" or something like that and I said "I'm responding to tell you this number is on the Do Not Call Registry." I think I was on the 3rd word of my sentence when he said "not a problem" and immediately hung up. The rest of my sentence went to dead air. So I saved the # in my phone and set it to No Ring, got online, and filed a complaint with the DNC registry.
The thing that bugs me about this is that, as Charles said, they're almost certainly using random number dialers, which as far as I'm concerned should be illegal since with those things there's no way to follow *any* "Do Not Call" list, anywhere. Maybe they add the # to their own list after you talk to them - I don't think I've ever gotten repeat calls once I've done that - but I'd rather not get *any* calls. And the way they operate, and especially how the calls keep coming in from different #s, all over the country, makes me suspicious that they're not legitimate anyway - just phishing for card #s they can steal. I sure hope no one ever falls for these things.- Caller: "Lower Interest Rates"

- EReceived a call from the above number but unless I recognize who is calling, I don't answer and the best part?? I did not set up my voice mail so they can't leave an annoying message either, it just let's them waste there time/money/energy. They will eventually learn that if they call my number, it will prove futile!!

- ChrisThey called me today (August 8th, 2011) on my cell phone and identified themselves as 'Account Services'. I asked them to remove me from their call list and they hung up on me rather than removing me. Super annoying!

- talkbacktothem!I get calls from this number and many different numbers from the same company, I have decided to waste their time like they like to wast mine. If you listen to the recording and press 1, you can get a person. The last time they called, I instantly asked for the womans home phone number, she had no idea what to say she finally said she didn't have a home. I then went on to tell her I know someone who runs a homeless shelter and since she has no home I can help her out and she can meet some meth heads and other scammers. She said that was rude, so I responded so is your scam company when you call me every week. I insisted again thay I get her home phone number, and she finally hung up. I have done a lot worse and said a lot worse but use your imagination next time and have fun with them without giving any info to them. The calls have been greatly reduced, since I started wasting their time.

- biznezmanThis number shows up on my caller ID about 2-3 times per week. I never answer, and whoever is calling never leaves a message. This tells me all I need to know.

- ECMJust got a call. Debt reduction. The really creepy thing is that they say that "they have tried to contact me repeatedly via mail and it is important for me to call them back." I don't appreciate scare tactics... freaks a person out that there as been some sort of fraudulent activity on an account.
- SteveI get calls every day from this number. I don't answer because I didn't know area 409.

- TracyGot a call from this number today. Went through figuring out what the credit card rate reduction thing was about last week when they called from a different number.
First--they say no cost if your credit score is good enough to "qualify"
Second--they don't mention that it does cost $499 which is to be put on a card upfront, so they can mail you additional information so they can negotiate lower rates. They claim to be in contract with banks who issue credit cards to lower rates to as low as 0%.
I told them I wouldn't do anything without discussing it with my spouse they got VERY PUSHY. I got very pushy back. I called my credit card companies, all of them. None of them knew of this company and all said they do not work with companies who do what is claimed. The fraud depts were interested in what was being offered.
They claimed to be from Associated Financial & Tax Services of FL. This company seems to exist, but I never could contact the company directly. Its in the BBB but when I called the number I got put on hold and someone called me back from some other number before I got off hold.
It all sounds fishy.
I told them to take a hike on Saturday and got my next call on Monday.- Caller: Associated Financial & Tax Services

- SCPCELL PHONE SCAM
You cannot do anything about it so TAG THE NUMBER AS SPAM.
As annoying as it is, it's an auto dialer, when they first call your number it is at random. When you answer your phone you activate your number through their system and the re-diler just keeps dialing that number at random almost on a daily basis. There's nothing you can do except to save the number and mark it as spam in your phone directory. That way when they call, you can ditch the call instead of answering it or allowing your voice mail to pick it up.
Hope this helps!- Caller: Card Services
- AnnThis number showed up on my cell phone. I am on the do not call list. I did not answer as I didn't recognize the number. Nobody left a msg on my voice mail. I have added it to my call reject list.
- DiANE LASKOWSKIAlthough my telephone is a registered "DO NOT CALL' number I just received another phone call from an automated caller. " Ann" as the system identifies itself is from credit services and wants to offer me a way to lower the interest on my credit cards.

- Betty ToddI am in Seattle -- a two hour difference and I do NOT like to be shocked awake by a phone ringing in the morning for a sales call or whatever this is ... it is a two hour difference. If it's 9am in TX, it is 7am in Seattle. I HATE THESE CALLS AND WISH THEY WOULD STOP!!!
- Betty ToddIt says on this site (that I'm writing this) to "report unwanted calls" ... what do these people do with this, or is this just to let people vent. I want something DONE about unsolicited calls such as these.
