Got a recorded message stating that they were checking to see if the number was an active number and that they were calling from 888-372-6548.  After I hung up, my switchboard LIT UP with the same number calling in again on our other trunk lines ALL AT THE SAME TIME!  They didn't say who they were or what they were calling about.  I hung up on all of those numbers.  Very strange...

Yea, same thing happened here.  all lines lit up from same number.

Same here. Then got another similar call from 888-372-6545. The Caller ID says "Porfolio Recovery"

Just another one of the unwanted calls I get each day,  I once hoped the FCC would slove the problem.  Just goes to show you what getting more government regulation can lead to.

Received same call.  Caller ID showed, "Pittsburgh PA"...

I use to be able to make call backs. Now they either won't answer or I will get
two (2) short rings and then disconnect their computer will disconnect.....

I called this number back and it is Portfolio Recovery.  They must have over a hundred numbers they call from trying to collect debts for Charles, Caesar, Catherine, Cherie, Carlos, etc.  My telephone number is listed in the telephone book with my last name and only letter "C" of my first name.  They call several times a day beginning at 8:20 in the morning.  They are not calling for me because I don't have any debts so their calls are even more irritating.

This number has been calling, but when answering the call then it hangs up.  Sometimes the person ask for a name then it hands up.  The calls are irritating.  On the caller id, the name shows PORTFOLIORECOV

They call in on the office line.  Since the number is not in our local service area we let it go to voicemail.  If we can't make money answering a call, we do not make an effort.

They call my phone at least 6-10 times a day and night.  When I answer they hang up.  I do not owe them nor anyone else.  Happened last year and now it has started again this year.

NO MSG. AND YET ANOTHER CALL FROM PORTFOLIO RECOVERY. IT NEVER ENDS. THERE ARE AT LEAST 2 CALLS EVERYDAY.

Get calls from this number all day and into the evening hours!  How do I stop these calls?

these jerks call everyday. I answer the phone,wait 5 second & HANG UP. i NEVER SAY A WORD. I REFUSE TO TELL THEM ANYTHING. I OWN MY PHONE & CHOOSE TO HANG UP ON THESE IODITS.

Google Voice users:  Create a contact and dump all the numbers on this list, plus any others that you know about into that contact.  Block the contact.  When they call, they will hear "this number is disconnected..."  and your phone will never ring.  You won't even know they called unless you check the spam folder in Voice.  The still keep calling (for some reason), even though I did this months ago, but it does not bother me one bit anymore.  If they call from a new number, I just add it to that contact and it's blocked too.  As a bonus, sometimes I get a call from a new number, but it doesn't ring my phone because Google already had it in my spam folder.  When I check it, it's PR.  I just add it to that contact and keep going on with my life.

There are free phone search companies ONLINE (I found 4) that can be accessed by anyone...that show clearly in the FREE AREA that my phone number is from a CELL...And if they PAY A SMALL MONTHLY FEE can see who the CELL Number belongs to...I'D CALL IT WILLFUL!!!! I'm giving that info to my Attorney!

THey used to call from 412-282-1420 and -1421. This is the first time they called me from -1423. It is the bottom feeding pond scum at Portfolio Recovery A$$holes. They are dumber than dirt, and have been calling this number for three and a half years, with NO ONE picking up EVER, but they keep calling. The Atty. General made them use their name in the caller ID about two years ago after I complained. They also made this outfit respond to me, after they had ignored all communications I sent them. The dopey lawyer named Pearson, who had been hired by these vermin soley to respond to all the complaints coming in from all over the country from state attorney general's offices, said they had "decided to cease collection efforts" on this totally unverified debt. That was more than a year and a half ago, and today's call is #216 since they "decided to cease collection efforts." I guess they just want to chat, must be lonely. I have better things to do than chat with them.
