These people call me everyday, sometimes 2-3 times a day.  I am disabled & really tired of this company calling all the time!!!! I owe no debts to anyone, current on all my bills, so why do they continue to call???

They called a friend's house asking for my husband's first name, asked if ** is there..and since he is the only one our friend knows by this name he passed it on to us.  No idea why they called our friend, asking for a different name.
    He has never lived there.

    Kinda dumb.

Get a call from this number on an almost daily basis and generally several times a day.  When I have answered to ask that they "remove me from their list," they hang up.  Most of the time there is no one there when I answer.  I assume they are a debt collection service since that is the only choice that matches up with this site's "call type."  I do not owe anything to anyone that doesn't get paid by the due date.

This number has called my cell phone 8 times over the past 3 days. They do not leave a voicemail and call anywhere from 7:30 am up until 8:45 pm. I do not want this company calling me any longer.

For one thing they should not be calling before 8:00am, which they have also done to me. And on one of the rare times that i have answered the phone when the number came up nobody was there. Never leaves any messages yet constantly calling, sometimes 4 times a day from 4 different numbers. Makes me wonder what kind of individuals are employed by these idiots.

Do NOT attempt to learn your credit score online by using any of the ad links, tempting you to find out your score. More than 20 yrs ago I went through bankruptcy--all debts were wiped out. Last year, I got curious about my credit score, though I'm below poverty level and don't use credit cards, etc. The top 3 credit score companies whose web site I visited, claimed the application I filled didn't go through. Well, it went through all right, straight to portfolio recovery, cause they called a week later. The man was threatening, manipulative, rude, and a liar, claiming I still owed all those debts from long ago. They've been calling ever since. I don't pick up, but sometimes they get sneaky with the caller ID, in which case, I hang up on them. Who, or what, made up these credit scores that we abide by? Why are they using ads to lure people into finding their credit scores, and then turning their names over to collection agencies? If they aren't, it sure was a strange coincidence.

Caller ID says "PORTFOLIO RECOV". These people call me at least two times a day, every day. They've been doing it for months. They have used dozens of different phone numbers. I always let these calls go to voicemail and they have never left a message.

I've also received a couple of letters from them. They are trying to collect a very old debt that is beyond the statute of limitations in my state. They're not going to get so much as a penny from me!

These jerks have several different numbers they call you from. They start at 8:30  am and will call until 9 p pm  including Saturday, Sundays and Holidays.
Nothing seems to stop them. They must enjoy telling their computer to dial the number and then not say anything.

The gajillion phone numbers tells me that this organization isn't legit. A real company has one phone number from which they call, and the ID always identifies them.

It's all too common for people to buy lists and try to collect on old debts. Most people don't know their rights, or that debts have expiration dates, so they pay (and pay and pay).

Old debts: strictly speaking, you still owe old debts, but after the statute of limitations expires in your state, they cannot sue you to recover in court. Legally they can pester you to pay up, BUT unless they can verify the debt is yours, they can go pound sand.

Bottom-feeding vermin like Portfolio Recovery cannot verify any of the so-called debts they try to get you to pay,  because they buy a printout from some bank or other business, with nothing but a name and the last four digits of your social security number on a line. The amount listed is not what they pay; they pay pennies on the dollar -- maybe $30 per $1000 of debt.

Then, they inflate that amount they paid by a factor of about ten, and start harassing somebody, maybe the debtor, maybe somebody else, to pay up. It is an extortion scam, although legal, enabled by The Best Congress Money Can Buy. It is a scam that could be stopped tomorrow, but the financial sector which has bought our government lock, stock and barrel, finds it useful, so it continues.

This was call #242 from these vermin, since they wrote me a letter the first of September, 2010 -- that was more than two years ago -- to say they had "decided to cease collection efforts." They have been ringing the phone at this residence for more than 3 1/2 years now, and never once has it been picked up. We get rid of vermin like rats with simple measures from the hardware store, but these vermin are like the living dead. Must be Halloween coming up;-)
