- MadGot two calls and no messages. Good, keep it that way.
- Florida PeteBuy a good call blocker. That's it. Easy. Nothing else really works.
- Rob 2| 2 repliesGot 2 cals from "Your Security" today, along with calls from Sri Lanka, Tru Green using their new ID of Name Not Found and a half-dozen more like that before noon. On the Do Not Call list but that appears to be some kind of a joke because nothing is ever done with the complants. Have a Call Blocker but, believe it or not it only holds 100 numbers and its FULL !!!! Think I'm just going to record a dog barking and put it on our answering machine as a memo for them to listen to. Already tried the hang-up method but that just prompts them to call back ten fold and now we are back to just not answering any calls unless we know who they are so that leaves out those who refuse to show their Caller ID, like Sears and Tru Green.

- Florida Pete replies to Rob 2| 1 replyI hear ya, Rob 2. If you have had your call blocker for 6 months or so, I would delete all and start over. Many would have stopped calling by now. There are always new ones and new numbers. I have a Digitone that holds 70 numbers and/or area codes. I can block entire area codes at a time by entering that particular area code. If yours does that and you don't have any friends or relatives in that area code, block it. Yes, I get calls like this idiot but they only get through once. The Digitone automatically blocks "unknown", "out of area", "private", "anonymous" and no number calls as well. Digitone works for me but there are a few other good ones out there. Seriously, that's the only way. DNC is non-functional, asking them nicely to stop only encourages them to call more and they sell your number to others because you answered. For everyone out there, get and use a good call blocker. Your phone company, like mine (Brighthouse) may have a free blocking service as well. I get 30 with that one. I use that one for local harassment. Best of luck.
- Understand this!Folks you have to understand this, as one poster has stated, they are criminals! Simply put, they do not care about the do not call list. They do not care about the law. They do not care if you ask to be removed and they definetly do not care if you complain. They are criminals. Robo telemarketing calls ARE illegal. That's why they use fake numbers and hide themselves. All they want to do is steal. Either way, blocking doesn't help becuase they will use another number. Ignore the calls, warn others not to fall for this scam, as long as people fall for it, the longer these fools stay in operation, which means the more calls WE all get. And reporting the calls doesn't hurt, as useless as you think it is, it actually does work. Look to the right of these forums under column "Latest News" and check the FTC website to see who the FTC has crack down on.

- Just MeThis time the CID was "Yoursecurity". 2nd call today. 3 yesterday. 1 on Tues. All different numbers, CID's but the exact same robocall. Sooner or later the NAS is going to admit they know who's making the calls but their protection payments to the DNC are up-to-date. Have to wait until they skip a payment or two or maybe the IRS will tie them in with a TEA party group and rub them out.

- CarlyReceived call a few minutes ago; this number has called several times this week. Let 'em call: they go right into voice mail if I don't recognize the number on Caller ID (the best tool for this kind of nonsense), and they scarcely ever leave a message.

- BrianJPeter is a recording. It's a "smart" system that has different responses to different comments, including hanging up if you confuse it. If you go through the recording, it will transfer you to a live person. These people will go to great lengths to get info from you without saying who they are, even hanging up on you if you push them for their company name. These scumbag companies are the worst of the worst. They want all your info to sell you without letting you know who they are because they know they'll be busted by DNC list AND the company they are screwing over. I called back multiple times to play the game in hopes of getting the company name, and finally got Monitronics. Called Monitronics, and they apparently work with these scumbags, and play the "victim" that these companies do business this way. These companies typically pay for "leads" from Peter, so I happily call them to just to screw them over. Call the number to get to a human, and let them know you don't do business with people who work this way.

- Michael| 3 repliesI think the best thing to do is to get to the person. When you get them, ask them, "Hey, what are you wearing?" I mean even if the caller is of the same gender. Another good question is, "Are you hungry?"
Ask them where they were last night. Ask them if they eat ants. Ask them if they wear their shoes on the correct feet. Keep asking them these truly important questions.
Don't refuse to answer. That's just waving the white flag and surrendering to these greedheads. If you think not answering is going to stop them - someone says the "silent treatment works", it doesn't - you're wrong. For all we know, it can be one person who pushes a button and gets his or her phones to ring the same numbers night after night, day after day. She or he could care less if you answer. They come in to work, around your dinner time, most likely, hit a computer key or two and the auto phones start calling the same numbers, including yours, that they called yesterday, the day before, the day before that, ad infinitum (can infinitum go backwards? - I didn't think so)
Be creative. Have some fun with these greedheads.
There are a great many questions you can ask them. I truly believe that this will discourage them.
Try it. It's fun and you can intrude upon their privacy at the same time they're intruding upon yours.
I really like the person who called Peter back ten times. I suggest that you all do that as well. As that person said, it might give them some idea of how it feels to have their privacy invaded.
People, the Do No Call Registry is a joke. I'm on it. It's never stopped anyone from calling me. I've complained.
I told one person if he or she calls again, "I'll own you." Now, I have no idea what that means, but it sounded cool.
Don't give up. Don't hurt anyone or destroy any property. Try to refrain using profanity. However, fight back. These are people who don't care how wealthy or how poor you are. They want to squeeze everything out of you and take it for themselves.
I'm afraid this is what America has come to. I -me- mine.
Just a suggestion.- Caller: yoursecurity
- Michael replies to Michael| 2 repliesI notice that no one’s responded to my suggestion and that’s OK. It’s not the easiest thing to do.
However, my guess, and I could be wrong, is that many of you are thinking, “I can’t say things like that. They’ll call the police.”
Think about that over and over and over and over again. “They’ll call the police.”
Do we really think that people who are trying to scam us out of money or whatever would call the police because we say “obnoxious” things to them? And if they did call the police, wouldn’t it be wonderful? They’d call the police. They’d do at least have of our job for us.
I wrote this at another message board of people whose privacy is being constantly invaded and I don’t see it there anymore. Did they remove it because it was “over the top”? And having our privacy invaded day in and day out isn’t over the top?
I’ll suggest this again when I get another greedhead phone call. I actually record these things in a document I call Phone Nazis.
Are we kidding? We’re afraid that they’d call the police?
Fight back anyway you want. They can pay the keepers of the Do No Call Registry much more than we can.
They can pay our “representatives” in congress – it’s been a long time since the people have had representatives in congress – much more than we can.
However, we can register the calls. We can call the corporate telephone companies. We can call the corrupt members of our government and we can think that something will be done. Then we can hope the Easter Bunny brings us chocolates.
I don’t condone, in any way, shape or form hurting anyone or physically damaging property, but I do condone screwing with their heads.
If you think it’s too hard, I have more faith in you than you have in yourself and I don’t even know you. Not only do I think you can do it, I think you’ll enjoy it.
Michael
