Scam offering free alarm systems. Told him not interested and hung up.

If anyone gets a call from this guy, you really need to file a complaint with the Do Not Call Registry.  He will be fined for calling anyone on the list after 31 days

all you need to do is ask them to stop calling, and if you're on the Do Not Call list, report the number and they will be fined.  $$ speaks volumes

I have gotten calls from Peter and I can't believe that nobody realizes "Peter" is a robot. He is not a live person. He always answers with 'Hello This is Peter, how are you today" followed by a silence for you to answer, then he says "ok" no matter what you say. He's a recording people!!!!!

Just got a call from this number. The caller id said YourSecurity. As with one of the posts above, he said "they were going to be in my area and giving away 20..." I tried to stop him from talking to tell him to start checking the no call list because I am on it but he kept talking on so I yelled out, "DON"T CALL AGAIN!" and hung up on him.  I am sick of the GE security system callers and it does not do a lot of good to report them to the no call list folks. The no call list thing is a joke. No one pays attention to the list.

This is a clever voice activated recording - you can try cute questions and calling back all you want - there is no 'Peter' to confound...it' s a machine! Calling back only verifies that your phone number is a good number. Reporting from enough people to the FCC and DNC.gov (below) will finally do some good, but there are restrictions on who they can or will prosecute, such as those 'selling' a product over the phone. This is a robocall and they are all now ILLEGAL so report them! Here are detailed instructions with web sites:

Did not answer the phone since I didn't recognize the number. I called it back. "Peter" answered and said he was from home security. I told him to place me on his DO NOT CALL LIST! He said, "OK" and hung up. Stay tuned. I will be reporting the number to the national DNC (failing) list.

Just called. I answered but nobody was on the other end

I have Ooma and can block 255 numbers including entire area codes (which counts as 1 block).When I was getting a rash of "VITGINIA CALL"s, I just blocked all Virgina area codes for two weeks, then cleared the block. No more calls.

Called our home phone about 7pm. We did not answer, and they left partial message. Robocall for home security scam. We are on state and federal do not call lists.

About a month ago our neighborhood was canvassed by a company with the same sales pitch. "We are wireless and thieves are cutting land lines".   The "salesman" asked to see my existing system. No way I was letting that creepy-looking dude into my house!

said it was Peter........selling home security systems.

Caller said they were giving away free security systems, same as all above notes, then he asked if we were owners or renting, I said renting, then he said he would remove our telephome number with out me asking, he was very nice and polite.   As a 50 years plus home owner we have suddenly decided we are renters.  Its really true, we are renting from the State of Oregon property tax collecter at $5g a year.  Don't move to Oregon unless you want to be ripped off on property taxes, income taxes and have to live with the  City of Portland's heavy hand ruining the rest of the state ,  yeah we are pissed off....  The city's attitude is we are Portland and we know best and what the hell you think does not matter... ,

WAY too funny...and very good advice! You can be assured that next time, instead of just not answering I will employ some of your suggestions and some of my own! My mind is just churning away with MANY upon MANY fun,yet annoying (to them) replies. Ahhhh.... The possibilities! Thanks for the suggestions!

Just another scam call .... have gotten hundreds and hundreds of such calls ... and am having trouble blocking them fast enough.  If you have a phone number ... and somehow ya make it on a list .... then the harassment seems to be endless.  We don't answer unknown numbers ... but it doesn't stop the flow of calls.

Peter keeps calling to harrass when you don't want to do business with him. Peter is mean spirited and fits the dangerous type. Report him every time if you can. Homeland security and the FBI should get a report too.

This is a rather cleverly done robocall. All of our advances in computing technology and artificial intelligence have come to this. If you clearly state you're on the do not call list, it immediately hangs up. Stupid Peter. Nothing can get him down because all of his soundbytes are pre-recorded.
