call me twice in two days 202-506-9784 was the number they use

Received call from Julie Smith, electronic message from IRS, need to contact immediately or legal action will begin.  Two calls today. Same as Danny above.
Scammers.  Called back and first dead air.  Second voice mail with NO reference to IRS.
Contacting IRS  and FTC and FBI

These calls are not coming from the IRS or anywhere else in the US government.

Got a call from this number same message said they were the I.R.S. I paid my taxes.  I know that this had to be a scam,  no answer when I called back.

They impostor as IRS agent to get to your bank account or set up credit card payments etc... Not a very smart people in any way, however older people, who those not aware of how the government organizations system works in country might be a victim of this type of fraud.

This same [***]. They called twice in one day.

Received same call from alleged officer Julie Smith or IRS, claiming urgent matter that extremely time sensitive and to call back immediately before start legal actions. Received identical message a couple hours apart.  Figured it was a scam, and other posting here would appear to confirm.  Also found a recent article about these scams in the Chicago Tribune http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/ct-tax-sca ... 0812-story.html

I called the # that "Office Julie Smith" left on my machine and a man with a Latino accent answered the phone and identified himself as the IRS. I asked him him badge # and he swore at me calling me a motherf__ker and told me not to call this number any more. Complete SCAM!!!

Received a message from "Officer Julie Smith," supposedly of the IRS, today. The voice was an automated one, advising me to call back immediately in order to prevent them from "taking legal allegations" against me. I received a similar call a few months ago from a 202 number, and reported it to the IRS (who didn't really seem to care but advised me that it is a scam and that the actual IRS will never call you). I don't know how I wound up on these scammers' radar, but I'm annoyed.

i reported them with there number to the irs i hope they keep it up  soon or later 8 years

Julie's been a busy woman, she called me about by "legal allegations". It is too bad she could not call directly, there must be a lot of legal allegations going out.

Received a call in the morning from 415-251-9813. It was recording, Computer voice "Julie Smith" of the IRS told me I was legally obligated to call her.

Received a computer generated call from "Julie Smith" who claimed to be from the IRS.  I hung up.  The IRS does not call!

I Just received the same call from the IRS. Exactly as others have posted.

Report the Calls to the real IRS here:
•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.

I just got this phone call a couple of minutes ago. It told me similar content with an automated female tone. I figure it sounds suspicious and googled it. Then I was lead here.
