I recieved a call from a similar number and he is asking me to send money but i figured it was a scam.

This is a total scam, they tried to steal my idenity and changed my address at my bank from Oregon to Calif.   Luckily I don't have to pay, and the fraud dept is after them from Wells Fargo.

Kenny bowser had called me today saying that he had gotten my profile i had submitted on line and that I had made it through that part.  He also said out of a thousand participants he narrowed it down to the top 20 and I had made it and that I have a chance on being on reality tv.  He got into some further details and then said about 288 for some cards.  I told him i was strapped till payday.  He had said if I want the spot he will hold it till he gets the cards made.  He also said that the cards will be sent to like 40 other casting agents to determine which show would be best.  He seemed legit.  But after reading all the other statements I had definitley changed my whole prospective.  I had been scammed b4 But now I am alot smarter.  I had googled his name and u get the old kenny bowers that had died in 1993.  Look for urself.  He was a well known musician and director.  Maybe thats where he gets his name from.  I don't know how true it is.  But I am no sucker.  One more thing  I tried to get the direct number for hollwood north entertainment it is in Los Angeles and with a complete different area code.  Hope this info is useful to all who reads.  BEWARE OF UR INSTINCTS AND LISTEN TO UR GUT.  Thanks Guys in helping me make my desecision.  I have used caution and will not be a victim of another scam.  Last one cost me 3500. One more thing he said he was in Santa Rosa.  Thats a complete different area code.  If it was a business Number it would show the business name and number.  Dont be foooled

i also got calls first from mick st pierre then from a ryan johnson wanting money looks like a scam to me

My daughter has been contacted by Gregg s., He came off as someone working for shows such as Nashville star. He told her he could get her on the show and had to send $288.00 for cards and a web site. She called so excited she was getting on Tv. He even told her to sing on the phone, the send him songs and photos, he sent the contract right over and was upset when she said her parents were looking it over. Would he try to use her songs? Its sad there people scaming like that!

For everyone out there wondering if HNE is a scam, let me tell you this. i too fell for the Kenny Browser speech, but did not send any money. I was very weary about it. After doing some research i found that all reality shows have open casting calls. Which means you don't need an "agent" to help you get the part. You don't need to pay any money if you do get an agent, they will take usually 15% of your earnings AFTER you have made money from your participation on a show. And finally, if you want to apply for a show go directly to the shows or network site and apply there!!! If it sounds to good to be true it is, nothing is as easy as it seems. You have to put in serious leg work to be on television.

Greg S. told me the money was nonrrefundable.  He said the casting would come to the city nearest me in 2-4 weeks..............sorry baby, write that $$$ off......scamcity baby

My name is Shawn Mitchell.  I'm the CEO of HNE Castings.  It never ceases to amaze me how people offer up opinions like they are fact.

Here are the facts:

HNE uses industry standard comp/talent cards to market individuals that they have selected or deemed a high percentage cast within the Reality TV genre.

HNE provides the creative work for these cards free of charge.

The client is responsible for the print production of these cards.  They have the option to outsource the prints on their end, or use a recommended print company by HNE.

HNE does not profit one cent from the print production of the cards.  They outsource the prints to a third party vendor.

HNE does not make a dime until they find work for their clients.  They receive a 15% commission on any income securing opportunities that they provide for their clients.

Therefore, if HNE does not provide their clients with work they LOOSE money!!!!!  If it was a scam, it would be the dumbest scam in the history of the world.

If your going to offer an opinion or answer someones question, at least have the decency to do your due diligence or have some knowledge in what you are talking about.  They say ignorance is bliss, but not when your ignorance affects others.

I was contacted by Ryan Johnson from HNE castings...is this really a scam?? just curious!!

That JD guy called me too, he's a [***] loooser, everybody this is a scam obviously!! Don't fall for it, I had a lawyer look over everything and its a scam. The addresses don't match up, there's no number for the Toronto location, I checked on Google Map and there's nothing. They do a convincing job though!

Ummmmm, why in the hell does this guy care what people are writing about? Its a scam!!! Don't fall for it.....this big time CEO/Casting Agent is coming on a site to fight for HNE? Has anyone ever heard of these losers on anything other then there internet site?? No!! [***] You

i got a phone call 2 days ago from this dumb [***] and he said the deadline was friday and i looked at some of the comments and they all said the deadline was friday and i saw stuff from 2 months and it said friday so this is a scam 100% this guy needs to get a life cuz he is a [***] licker

Interesting how Shawn Mitchell is responding and giving a 415 number (SF bay area) when he actually lives in Toronto ... and his real name is Shawn Staley... and their listed address in the bay area is a mail receiving service.

As far as losing money on the printing... you can get 250 high quality comp cards printed in full color for under $100 if you know where to look.  If you print a bunch of different cards at the same time, it's even cheaper.  And unless you, the talent, get the comp cards in hand, there's no way of knowing if they were even printed at all... it would be easy to send you a PDF proof and mail you one sample printed on a digital printer and claim they ran 200 or 1000 or whatever.

Also notice that Shawn conveniently won't provide a list of any of the bazillions of people he's allegedly cast.  Oh, and by the way, most reality show performers don't get paid well and some don't get paid at all.

I was contacted by Ryan Johnson a few months ago, I signed up with the program and sent them my 275 + taxes. I've been on quite a few casting calls now and it's great to say that after about 8 that I went on...I finally got a part in a small mtv show. It's not survivor but at least it's start...Yah, it's not fun paying 275 up front but i wouldn't want to do those cards myself.. waste of my time....thats my two cents anyways..
