I got a call on my cell at 6:25PM 09/16/10 and when I answered it,it started ringing like I was phoning that number.A guy answered and ask for me by my name and pause and acting like he couldn't hear me.So,he said he will call back later

I received a call at 5:54 PST Sept 16. I decided to not answer the phone, as I don't know anyone with a 416 area code. I let it go to the answering machine and no message was left. Now I know not to answer this call. We're also Scotia customers.

I have received calls from this number a few times, I have answered and they are trying to get me to sign up for a scene credit card.  I already have one, they are still calling.

Mystery solved!

Received call (no message) today (09/20/2010). Called back and got recording for "Optima Communications on behalf of Scotia Financial".

3rd party company selling hospitalization insurance on behalf of Scotiabank

Got a call from 416-313-4990. When I don't recognize the caller' number like this one, I don't answer and my recorded message kicks in giving the caller a chance to leave a message. No message was left.

Got the call today, I'm not only the president... but i'm also the... You guessed it...

Am also a Scotiabank customer.  This number called today, left no message.

Also a Scotia client, I ignored the call and they left no message.

I am also a Scotia client.  I've been getting a couple calls a week for the last month or two, usually when I'm at work so I miss them anyway.  But they never leave voicemails.  Very annoying.

Also a Scotia Client... wife answered,  they wouldn't tell her who they were, so she said I wasn't home. When will they stop trying to upsell !! Rude technique of selling to clients!

Have been getting calls from this number they do not leave messages and there is no name registered for them. Is there anyway I can have these calls stopped. Other than changing my number.

Just got a call from this number...no message.  I also do some business with Scotiabank.

I have not been a Scotiabank client for well over a year so they have NO BUSINESS calling me, PERIOD!

Unknown numbers are generally not answered by me, and if you can't be bothered to leave a message then there is no reason to call me in the first place.

I've told Scotia to stop calling me time and again...and as per usual, they do NOT care about what the customer wants, because they want to sell their services.  I'm labeling this telemarketing, since I've asked to be put on the no-call list, and they still bother me with calls about life insurance.
