Received a call from 416-313-4990 on Sep 19, 2011; no message. Am a Scotia Bank customer too.

Got a call from 1-416-313-4990 today.  It is Scotia Life Ins Company trying to sell ins that pays you $100 a day if you end up in the hospital.  Seeing as how I am in the ICU every day for the past 2 weeks visiting my husband who was in a car accident, I asked if they would cover his stay since he is going to be in the hospital and in the rehab ward for months and they said no so what good is it to me now?  Quit calling me scotia!!!

I googled 416-313-4990 and this page came up. It seems that most of the people receiving calls from this number are Scotiabank customers.  I got 2 calls from this number in the last 2 weeks. The first time no message was left and the second time I answered and the person hung up. This is very poor conduct and if it is Scotialife insurance calling then they should rethink their customer service practices. I have told Scotialife in the past that I'm not interested and they stopped calling until I got a new phone number. I would like to tell them to stop calling again, but I can't if no one speaks on the other end!

If the bank can not have their name added as a caller id, then why would I trust anyone from an unknown caller or private number?????

It is Scotialife and they will continue to call forever. I even told them that I am not eligible for life insurance and they continue to call repeatedly. They will not take no for an answer believe me.

They call me every morning at 8:30 a.m.  Now they're calling me on the weekends.  I am going to complain to ScotiaBank (not that it'll do any good).  I HATE THEM.

Wtf are they calling for if they are not going to talk to you or leave a message....how frustrating!!!!!!!

Scotia life for sure. i called 18004scotia, logged a complaint and they are investigating. But at least I was told I will be removed from all marketing lists..so thats at least good.

Another thing though..I am on the no call list and they still call...should be letting them know too!

Just got a call from this number. I have a small Scotialife policy & they wanted to sell me more. I said I wasn't interested a bunch of times. She kept going on & on and started talking about how if I was burned in a fire I'd be covered. I hung up. She said the call was being recorded so I'm going to contact Scotiabank about this.

Just got a call from this number. I didn't answer. They left a voicemail, but it was just a cough then hang up. Don't know who it was.

Dont know if this helps but i Got this call tonight, no message. I WAS a scotia bank customer over a year ago..  but not anymore..  So hard to say if it is scotialife or not

Received a call from this number as well ~ 30mins ago.  Didn't answer and no msg left.  There is definitely a pattern here.

Same as others. I'm a Scotia Bank member. I recieved the call on Saturday Sept. 8, 2012 at 1h30pm. I didn't answer.

i got a call at the same time today (7:30 EST) obviously part of their out going call center. I've told them in not interested in life insurance before and that i would call them if i was but they still call me :/

Got a call, I picked and they hung up.  Happened multiple times within this past months.

Interesting how this number only seems to call during the month of September since 2009 based on these comments. I received one too, no voicemail.

i am also a scotia client, told them i don't qualify due to medical condition. next time they called i told them i am a real estate sales representative and proceeded to solicit their business. even though i owned the conversation they are still calling, but not buying or selling!

this number has called me repeatedly for weeks, it is scotia bank offering accidental life insurance i had to tell them i didn't want it more than half a dozen times
