Yep ! We got a call on landline @ 6:30pm Mountain Time. Looked up number, it is an unpublished landline in Toronto.  Who on earth would do that at that time of night and not leave message ?

Calls my cell often, no message left.

I've been getting lots of calls from the same number.  I'm not too sure who's calling, but I think it's Scotia Bank trying to get people to apply for credit cards...  So annoying!!!

Yup, they say they are a Scotia Bank Customer Representative.  They refuse to tell you what branch they are calling from and hang up abruptly when questioned.

I get them every night and no message. As soon as I pick up they hang up.

I got today a phone call from same number at 8:30pm Toronto Time. Who are these guys?

I got it @ 8:28 pm and 4:50 pm.AT.  TELEMARKETER?  It leaves no message.  I believe it is Scotia Bank because I got one that was a 888-882-3811 was Scotia bank.

Every night between 6 and 7 pm.  For weeks....

I get one or two calls from this number DAILY, so I decided to call them back. I got a recording that said they are Optima Communications International calling on behalf of Scotia Life Financial. I called Scotiabank and they gave me a number to file a complaint, get this, within the office of the President of Scotiabank. I guess they take complaints seriously! That number is 1-877-700-0043. So I suggest anyone who reads this may want to call the President of Scotiabank. That will, I'm sure stop Optima Communications in their tracks!!!

is the best solution to having your number removed from Optmia Communications call list.  Ask for Sally, she was extremely professional and polite.  If you are a scotiabank customer they will ask for you account number to ensure you are taken off all call lists.  Merci to Edward for his helpful post!

This caller is calling unsolicited and saying they are with the Bank of Nova Scotia. They do not sound legitimate.

i used to work there...
just to let you know, optima communications is hired by scotiabank.
when you apply for any type of credit card... or basically anything with the company, in the fine print it says you are agreeing to have any solicitation involved with the bank reach you by the number you fill  out.

the telemarketers know you have signed the papers and agreed to them calling your home..
this is why you need to contact the president of the bank.. so that they can go back in your files... and change part of the agreement for you.

people sign things to easily these days. fine print is important.

telemarketers hate their jobs more than you do.

416-847-8384 Is a new number that Optima Communications is calling from they are calling from.  Ignore this number.

These telemarketers phone my number 3 times a day, everyday, for the past year. They are most annoying and I couldn't stand them anymore.... I finally gave them a piece of my mind.
I decided to use some harsh language,
"Please don't phone me every [***] day and [***] hassle me about your [***] [***] [***] ass products; and go [***] yourselves MFB".
Boy, I hope my language wasn't too harsh for there ears! I hope they don't phone me anymore.

We do not want to get any more calls from this number - how do we stop this?
