This is the second phone call this week.  When I don't answer, they don't leave a message.  I picked up today and there was nobody there, and then a fast busy signal.  Who is this?

Calls everyday-no message. No option is offered to be deleted from their list. I hope someone does something about this.

go 4 it.....make thier lives miserable...they are so miserable dont know what the company that hired them gets out of them.

A HUGE thank you to 'L' for dropping the number of the owner! I Love it! I called and asked him to remove the number form the system and called him out of using an auto-dialer. After a month of calls and hang-ups I FINALLY got through to someone. He didn't seem to care too much and said he worked for the Sun but he admitted he worked for M&M Direct and that the company makes hundreds of calls a day, if not thousands.
Call Him and make sure he knows how annoying it is to have people calling you like that and then hanging up! Thanks again, 'L'

Yup they need a good kick in the teeth!! I actually had to right this because they called me, wait two kicks in the teeth!!

I get there call about 25 times a day, I call the CRTC what a joke they are.
The best way to handle the [***] is to go to there location and serve them with a threat of a lawsuit.
Wait two weeks and see what happens, if they still call, then go back to there place with about two friends and threaten to trash the place.
Make sure you have record of the phone calls, because they will call the cops on you, when the cops arrive tell them you want to press charges of phone harrasment and show them the record of the phone calls.
I did  and they stopped fast, real fast.
If they called me one more time the fine is over 500 thousand and the phones would be turned off for good.

3 or 4 times a day   tell them to quit    they laugh   hang up and phone rite back    big jerks

I sent a complaint to the CRTC.  Even though they say they are selling newspapers according to this site, from the sounds of it, they are not very credible, and they have called me on occasion and hung up as well.  Today I answered and got someone on the other end, they asked for mr/mrs ______, and I said "Take my name off your list, i'm not interested" and they hung up quick before I could finish that sentence.  That to me was a bit odd.

They keep calling from the number: 416--850-3646. I did not answer. They did not leave a message.

Just received this call today.

It was for the Toronto Sun. To add insult to injury I pay to have an unlisted number yet she knew my last name! I have received other calls but they didn't know my name and I know how they just have the prefix to the # (ex. 416-698-xxxx) and fill in the spots OR a computer does it but these slugs knew my last name! I am SO MAD! I asked to have my number removed from their list (I can also block calls from specific numbers on my phone which I also did) but that doesn't change the fact that my name and number is now out there ... I don't want to have to change my number again! I tried calling them back to find out how they got my name but went to a full VM box. I looked them up online and the number given was out of service.

Any ideas on how to find out where they got my number/name from?

Sometimes the person says he is from Toronto Star and some time Sun Media.
This guy even hacked into my phone company, Rogers, and removed the block number twice.
I advised the do-not-call to call the police as hacking is crime in Canada but I think they will not do anythig other than wasting the tax.

Do-not-call center is useless. They are just sitting on their hand and live on our tax money.

I phoned the Toronto Star, which the caller said he is.
I explained to the customer service she transferred my call to circulation desk.
Who knows, may the call is working for Toronto Star or Sun Media to increase the circulation.

Sorry to inform you guys but there is little you can do about this. Selling newspapers over the phone is EXEMPT from the Do Not Call List program. It is perfectly legal to call people for newspapers, opinion polls and political campaigns. This company works for the Toronto Sun. All you can do is ask them to put your number on their "do not call list". Be nice and persistent. I used to get these calls a lot. I even called the police and they couldn't do anything. It is not a scam. Just another business employed by the Toronto Sun. Royal Bank and CIBC do it too. This is capitalism. They don't care about you. It is about profit. Get used to it.

I found out today by calling 416-335-4806 who is an individual employed by M & M as he answers the phone stating the company name,but she say she call from toronto star newspaper .is she lying ?
ans she wants my credit card number. but i didn't give her .
