Guy called me around 5pm today asked for me by name and claims to be from rogers and proceeds to start asking me questions about how many services I have with rogers. I told he should know if he was really calling from rogers and then asked him how could he prove to me he was from rogers, he then hung up the line.

Always weary about identity thieves and telemarketers.

Tonight I recieved an annoying harassing call from this number. There was no reply to my "hello". I have recieved a couple of thses type of calls lately though I answered it before my phone registered the number or I didn't bother to take note of the number.

Here we go again, run to get the phone to pick it up the phone and said hello, hello, hello damn you! I had enough with this crap! 5 times in a week

I googled this number and found this message board. I took one of yours advice and called Rogers. It turns out the number is the promotions department at Rogers. The Rogers guy said it was probably a malfunction. I think the problem occurred because it's probably automated. It's idiotic of them to allow this.

I have had the same problems, same number. I have contacted Bell Canada, as well as making a complaint on the CRTC Website. Also you can add your name to a do not call list at www.the-cma.org click on the contact us link, and on the right hand side of the page click the link to add yourself to the do not call list. They say it takes 6 weeks to take effect. Apparently Bell is coming out with something in the fall of 2008. Hope this helps some of you.

I posted my last message as "I had the same problem", and I was wrong. Some telemarketer called claiming he was from Rogers and said the number was from his promotions department, but I read what some of you wrote and decided to call Rogers myself. Apparently, the guy was lying. This number is from some company pretending to be Rogers. The Rogers representative was saying there was nothing she could do but block the number but it was only a service that covered 3 months and would cost me money afterward. That's not enough for me; I want these guys arrested or punished. I've had too many telemarketers waste my time and sleep and I'm sick of it, especially when they don't have the decency to say who they are and flagrantly lie about it.

I'm calling the police and management at Rogers. Surely a phone company should be able to trace who this is and deal with this.

Received a call from this number tonight at 9:20pm, which is much later than the prototypical telemarketers' call. The person, who had an indian accent, asked for me (of course, he brutally mispronounced my last name). I said that it was me speaking, and the man immediately hung up.

This number keeps calling me, without leaving a message. I picked up just now and heard a man say "Hello" and then hang up. I will definately be reporting this person! This is harassment.

We canceled our telephone account with Rogers and right after this phone # (416-907-0553) has called us over 25 times. He calls us on somedays 3x.  This phone number is a Rogers marketer. And he's very creepy!

I’ve received at least 50 phone calls in the last month from this number. Usually, it’s dead air, or someone with a very thick accent asks if I’m with Rogers. I’ve asked on these occasions to be removed from the list, yet they continue to call four times a day. I finally called Rogers regarding this, and they said the number is being spoofed and it is not them. They also mentioned they had a number of complaints about this number. The other day, this number called again, so I decided to see what type of questions they would really ask. They said they were from the Rogers Promotions department and wanted to offer me a deal on my current mobile phone. I do not have a mobile phone account with Rogers. They asked me things like my date of birth, account number, etc. I asked if they could bring up my account as I had some questions, and they made up excuses as to why they couldn’t. After going through the process, I was transferred to a verification department, which is when I told them that I had a feeling they weren’t really with Rogers and would call the police if they ever called me again. So far, no phone calls since… knock on wood.

I have been receiving these calls for near a month from both the 0553 and 0554 numbers. The company is indeed IRISTEL www.iristel.ca  I have no idea what these people actually do as the company does sound quit fishy. You can call this idiot 416-299-4521 who barely speaks proper English and he'll dabble around anything you say about the company and your complaint and not give you his name but will provide you with a so called customer service number to some chick in Romania using a 416 number, who seems to be afraid to give out information or I was being real hard on the phone she could of been scared thinking I was going to Matrix through it into her home as that is where she works from!? Apparently these numbers are all run from VOIP Telephones. The Company itself runs out of Markham Ontario

Apparently a Manager to speak with that Beatrice gave me (Romania) is Michael Gerr and Magot Buchera ? Don’t quote me on the spelling...
I have already sent a complaint to the CRTC and funny the Police have no clue what to do with this, but take information...Like thats going to help, way to use up my tax dollars on nothing!
Call this company folks and rip them apart, hell I might even take an Irate stroll on down there myself if this doesn't stop.
What’s IRIS Tel's response on this, apparently they are aware and cannot give out the information to who is doing this, they know who the numbers are listed too and have had many complaints, they claim to be looking into the matter, numbers you call for they customer service people seem like they are withholding information and afraid to talk !? Not sure what’s going on here or what kind of telecommunication scam this could be. The company is listed through Bell and Rogers and Global and IRIS  Tel to some third party individual who they seem to be protecting from my understanding. I tell you one thing right now, at 6'6" 340 solid these guys are going to need some protecting if this keeps happening.
Log your calls in with your local police and give these numbers a call for these IRIS TEL idiots and let them know the police are aware of the situation.

I have no idea why you call this number 416 299 4521 get some stupid guy in Russia who then gives you a number to Beatrice in Romania 416-848-9804 customer care who sounds like she has a pistol at her head speaking to you scared to tell you information in some basement sewer sitting at a metal desk with one dim light above her head……..
Not sure what weird scamming ring is going on here, hope when you call them they can't trace your number and get your information through Bell or Rogers on your account as they are tapped through them basically cause that would be just nuts, but these days who knows, they are using VOIP phones which are through the internet . VoIP services convert your voice into a digital signal that travels over the Internet. If they are calling your phone number, the signal is converted to a regular telephone signal before it reaches the destination. VoIP can allow you to make a call directly from a computer, a special VoIP phone, or a traditional phone connected to a special adapter. IRIS Tel has subscribed the two numbers calling people to an individual whom they wish not to share information and claim they cannot stop the calls themselves….?? If thet are the provider then this is not making any sense to me…

Nice going! These clowns have been harassing me for months. How on earth did you figure out who they were? I'm definitely going to complain to the police about this, as well as my phone service provider. I'm convinced that it's some sort of identity theft scam and these people  need  to be stopped! I figure if enough people complain, then the  police/phone company will take notice and finally do something to put an end to this!

I'm getting a lot of phone calls from this number but never answered them.

I just got a call from 416-907-0553, knowbody answered for the first 5 seconds, but then someone did answer and said that they were from Bell Canada.
They are totally lying, it is an indian guy, there is knowbody at Bell at this time, it is 9:00pm.
I suggest people call Bell, or whoever company the persaon says they are from, and file a complaint.
Also... send a message to phonebusters. http://www.phonebusters.com/english/reportit.html and hopefully the law will finally do something.

I received a call today october 12th from 416 907-0553. The guy i spoke with (indian accent) told me that he was calling me from bell canadas promotion department that we were good customers and  that i was to receive a free samsung cell phone. asked me if i was with bell canada i told him yes. We are actually with rogers. Played his game for a little while to see where he was going with this. Than he wanted my full name and was trying to get my birthday and more personal info  from me. I asked him why he didnt have this info already since he was an employee of bell. He said that the promotion dept didnt have access to this information. .I called bell to notify them they said they were going to look into this.  this is not bell .Do not give these people any info.tell them to **** off.
