- KimI was called by this number five times and no messages were ever left. I looked them up on this site and see PSE. I called up PSE and they told me there were no overdue bills and they would NOT have called me. They warned me there are phishing calls out trying to use their name. I'm assuming this is one of them.
- DaveGot a call from a supposed PSE automated system. Same story; passed due bill. My bill is not in such status so I knew it was "Phishy". Mark them as "Do not answer" and keep moving. Though this has to be illegal somehow.
- Caller: Phishing P.S.E.
- AdamA man name mark said he needed my credit card number I owed $374.00 I told him I would call back ....ya right it's a scam
- Lana Affosno| 9 repliesThey started calling my husband non stop last week (2/11/16) claiming to be PSE and if we don't pay our bill right now they will shut off our power. I was a few days late on my bill so I jumped online and paid them. We are currently $0.21 over paid on our account and I took his cell number off the account. They called him again today and when I tried to call the number back (why not, see if they were legit or play with a scammer a little) They are actually PSE - it didn't feel right at first as a real person picked up and the line didn't sound professional at all but she was able to look at my account via the service address and see the payment I made. She apologized for the call as it was a mistake.
- Caller: PSE
- BonnieI've received calls several times from this number, which I refuse to answer, because it's an unknown number, and they never leave a message. After googling the phone number, and reading these responses, I have blocked that number.
- BigA replies to Lana Affosno| 2 repliesExcept for the fact that that is not how utilities collect bills. They don't "threaten to immediately shut off" .So I find your post reading more like a shill for this scam.
This is from their web site http://pse.com/accountsandservices/YourAccount/Pages/Scam-Alert.aspx
PSE customer alert:
Be aware of scams targeting utility consumers
Puget Sound Energy reminds you to be aware of scammers and con artists who target utility consumers across the country posing as utility representatives and demanding immediate payment of an “overdue” bill to avoid disconnection of your energy service.
Recent scams include:
Scammers going door-to-door offering to restore power for a fee, or asking if your power is out. This is NOT something PSE workers would do.
Phone calls using “spoofing technology” that displays Puget Sound Energy’s name and phone number when they call to threaten disconnection of service—usually within 30 minutes—if immediate payment is not made with a prepaid debit or money card.
A caller, falsely claiming to be from Puget Sound Energy, leaves a message to call back a number, usually an unfamiliar 1-800 or area code number. - dude replies to Lana Affosno| 1 replyMost likely she was prentending that she saw the payment and you gave her your account number. The computer system wouldn't make that kind of mistake.
- RobScam
- Caller: Pse
- OscarThe number was supposedly from PSE. I tried calling three times and the first two calls went to a voice message but it dropped the line. On the third call I reached a person. I asked why my number was being called on several occasions. The person did not give a reason for why I was being called, but She did try to get my name. When I didn't give it to her she claimed she could not go any further with the call. I also stated that I couldn't go further with the call either but I insisted that they stop making calls to my phone number. Protocol for utility companies is to do everything in writing if there is a problem. This seems like a phishing scam. Beware.
- Caller: PSE?

- Cathi replies to Lana Affosno| 1 replyBe careful because I actually had a PSE truck pull up in my driveway and walk right past my roommate and into my garage (door open because she was washing her dog - turned off my power and when my roommate called to tell me I contacted PSE. Although I had paid over the amount due 2 weeks prior I was forced to start a new account and pay enormous start up fees just to get my power back on. I have reported to utility commission but nothing has come from it and I am continually receiving calls from this number. Even though I am completely caught up/ahead in my actual billing process.

- BigA replies to CathiYeah, sorry but I don't believe a word of that. First they mail you stuff telling you that you are overdue and what day you will be disconnected. So in order for what you claim to have happened, you would have had to ignore all those. Second, meters are never set inside a residence. Inside a multiple residence, possibly, but never inside a single residence. Third, I doubt you would have had to open up a new account, if you had paid and had actually been able to prove that you paid to them, thus resulting in their mistakenly (allegedly) disconnecting you.
- Tygerkat replies to CathiDid you complain to PSE? You paid them so this shut off should never have happened and they certainly should not have charged you to reinstate your service.
