- Elena replies to missyI completely agree. Sprint texts you first. I just got a call from (402) 220-1561 saying that they are Sprint and to call about an urgent matter regarding my number - a totally different number that wasn't mine!! This is not Sprint. I'm about to contact Sprint about this.
- insanity| 2 repliesI can't believe how stupid the average individual is. This is not fraud. This is a company sprint outsources to make payment calls. If you don't like it, call CS, but you have a seriously tiny brain to yell scam at this.
And the same people shouting this is a scam are the ones refusing to get their kids vaccinated. The world we live in.- Caller: Sprint
- Call type: Debt collector
- anon replies to insanityI can't believe how stupid some shills are. Many people have found out this is fraud. You have a seriously tiny brain to call people names like this.
And the same people shouting this is not a scam are the shills. The world we live in. - WilliamThis is definitely NOT Sprint! They don't even sound like sprint customer finance which is why I called Sprint customer service from *2. They (Sprint) said that 480-263-4013 does not belong to them. Whatever you do do not give 480-263-4013 any of your info. THIS IS A SCAM!!!!!!
- Caller: Scam (Not Sprint!)
- William replies to insanityI did call Sprint customer service and according to them this is not a # for sprint customer finance (as they say), but you must have a seriously tiny brain to be criticizing others without proper knowledge of the matter. If you do owe Sprint some money, call CS at *2 and pay. Do NOT call the scam # or give pea brain here any credibility what-so-ever!
- PSThis is a Sprint service and I think you should attend to it. I had a over due bill. It is not necessary to respond to this call directly. You can call Sprint Customer service and settle the matter. But this is not a marketting call I would follow it it up.
- Caller: Sprint
- Call type: Event reminder
- Greg Scher| 7 repliesOkay folks lets stop arguing back and forth. Anyone with Sprint cell service knows they have an overdue bill and that's when the calls start coming from this number. No need to answer the calls from this number but you can simply call Sprint customer service, take care of your bill and the calls will immediately stop from this number.
This is a robo-call automated number. Sprint literally has hundreds and hundreds of numbers they use for all of their dozens of offices and thousands of employees and it is virtually impossible for ANY Sprint customer service person to know whether or not this number is valid or not.
If you get a call from this number it is clear that you have some issue with Sprint -- usually an overdue bill. Simply call Sprint on whichever number you prefer to use and take care of it and you won't get calls from this number again.
Ta da. Problem solved.- Caller: Sprint Robo-Dialer
- Call type: Debt collector
- William replies to Greg Scher| 6 repliesWell it seems that some people haven't done any research or just as likely they are shills for this scam operation.
480-263-4013 has no relation to sprint, sprint customer finance or any thing else related to sprint (including outsourced collections) what-so-ever. This comes from Sprint and my complaint was not the first. They do know who collects past due bills for their current customers.
Not to mention that most of the people that are getting these calls are current sprint customers with active sprint cell phones, not people with terminated service and accounts that have been sold to collection agencies.
Like myself many have also reported here that the "urgent matter regarding phone # xxx-xxx-xxxx" (supposedly my number) isn't even my phone number or any number that I am remotely familiar with. A few are not only unfamiliar with the referenced phone# but also don't even have sprint.
THIS IS CLEARLY A SCAM!! And anyone having actually read the comments before posting that says it's not a SCAM is undoubtedly one of the SCAMMERS (or one of the most eager marks I've ever seen) ! - Mark Meyers, SPRINT CSR, Dallas, TX replies to William| 5 repliesGentlemen:
My name is Mark Meyers. I am a senior Sprint Customer Service Rep in the Dallas Finance Office. My Sprint ID is: 1715806.
As Mr. Scher pointed out above, you are indeed receiving automated telephone calls from the Sprint Finance Office for past due accounts. This is not a scam and your service with Sprint is about to be interrupted when you receive these calls. Call Sprint Customer Finance at 800-639-6111 from your home phone or *2 from your Sprint cell phone and make arrangements to take care of your past due bill.
Thank you for your concerns.
MM, Sprint CSR - William replies to Mark Meyers, SPRINT CSR, Dallas, TX| 4 repliesSure, which is exactly why:
#1 The phone # they reference when they call has no relation to me. (the same is true for many others posting here)
#2 When I called sprint about it, they said they said, they were aware of this scam # and 480-263-4013 has no relation to sprint, sprint customer finance or any thing else related to sprint (including outsourced collections) what-so-ever.
#3 Some people getting these calls are not only unfamiliar with the referenced phone# but also don't even have sprint.
Besides Mark, if this isn't a scam why dial *2 or any real sprint # for that matter when you can just pay the people who call from 480-263-4013. That would be the easiest way. I mean since it's not a scam right? And that's what you would really like people to do, take the easy way out after you build trust telling them to dial a real sprint #. I mean why do that if it's not a scam anyway?
This is just a typical fishing expedition by a scam operation, Mark Meyers Sprint ID:1715806 doesn't exist, and we are the ones that got away. Good try Mark. - Jennifer L. replies to William| 3 repliesI read through this entire thread after getting an automated call from this number and decided to call Sprint @ 800-639-6111 and ask for Mark Meyers with Sprint ID is: 1715806. The customer service representative looked up his ID number and transferred me to customer finance who told me that he did not come into the office until later in the evening.
Although I do have Sprint phone service and a smart phone I have never been behind in a payment so I was sure this was a scam. Imagine my surprise when I was told that I owed Sprint a whopping $949.53 !!!!!!!!!!!!
It turns out that someone had cloned my cell phone electronic serial number ad had been making all sorts of international calls. When I told Sprint that not only did I not know anyone outside of the country but had not even called anyone outside of my state in a month they looked into my account and got rid of the calls and put an international call block on my phone for free.
In short, it seems there really is a "Mark Meyers" and that the calls we receive really are generated by Sprint. I don't know why this "William" guy is so argumentative about it other than maybe he just likes making stuff up without checking out the facts and hearing the sound of his own voice.
I did check it out. It is a valid Sprint call. Even if you think you don't owe them money you better call because someone may be trying to screw your name or credit over. It's a free call and they don't collect your personal information or try to sell you anything. It is simply an attempt to collect past due money. Sheesh. Some people! - William replies to Jennifer L.| 2 repliesWell it's very possible that "insanity", "PS", "Greg Scher", "Mark Meyers" and "Jennifer L." are all the same shill just posting under different names.
I called Sprint @ 800-639-6111 (a real sprint # by the way) and the representative told me that Sprint ID: 1715806 does not pull up anyone at all, let alone someone called Mark Meyers.
Whether anything else Jennifer L. posted is true, I have no idea but I doubt it!
If a company like Sprint wanted to collect past due money from me I would think they would at least be able to get the phone # they provided me correct.
Nice try Jennifer L or "insanity" or "PS" or "Greg Scher" or "Mark Meyers" or whatever scam name you think of next will be. - Jennifer L. replies to William| 1 replyOf course you moron. Everyone is wrong but you. Do you have any idea at all what a loser you sound like??? I wonder how many other people have actually called Sprint like I did and know that you are an idiot but they just haven't posted anything! My God, the nerve of some people! And I never even heard of any of these other people you are talking about but I guess if someone doesn't agree with you, you just use any forum to rant and scream conspiracy. Get help you loser!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Jason T.I got a call from this number this morning @ 9:41 CST. I was at work and couldn't talk but they told me I had a past due bill with Sprint. When I got home from work I called Sprint on the same 800 number the Sprint man above gave and sure enough my phone was about to be shut off so I paid it and they told me the automated calls from this number would stop. I used to get text messages from Sprint but the lady at Sprint said that not all calling areas are able to deliver bulk messages so you get calls instead. It's a real number and you better pay your bill and that's all I gotta say about it.
- Caller: Sprint
- Call type: Debt collector
- katie replies to Jeff 2| 1 replyYes it says sprint finance but it is a fake. Sprint has even confirmed it multiple times.
- William replies to Jennifer L."BUSTED" Imagine that!
- Timothy| 1 replyThis isn't a scam, I just Googled the number, checked my account, and was past due.
- Caller: Sprint
- Call type: Debt collector
- William replies to TimothyTimothy is just another scammer. If you wonder how I jumped to that quick somewhat harsh conclusion just Google the number yourself and you will see that no sane person could possibly come to the "This isn't a scam" conclusion from a Google search of 480-263-4013.
As far as being past due, Well good for you! That means your no different than 1/3 of sprints customers and 1 out of three is pretty good for a fishing scam.
You lose Timothy or "Jennifer L" or "insanity" or "PS" or "Greg Scher" or "Mark Meyers" - CandaceSCAM!! they say they're with sprint but that's a lie Sprint sends text messages when your bill is due not call
- ethanthey tried to pretend to be SRP and ask for payment on deliquent account
