This is a valid collection call from Sprint.  It might be an outside company that Sprint uses but I think they are simply spoofing a local number so I might answer.  I do owe money and my account is due to be turned off because it's over 30 days late.  They used the correct account name in their message.  They want me to call 800-934-6951 which is a Sprint number for collections.  I already received prior texts about my late payment and I also called them from my phone to find out the last day I can pay this before the account is turned off.  I still haven't reached that date or paid the bill yet, so I can expect more calls.

    Very legit automated nag line.
Voicemail it leaves is very  misleading  as it leaves the last four digits of your account  number, not your phonen number. First thing it asks for when you call is the phone nuber in wich you recived the call. It wouldn't  accept  it when i entered my non-sprint number. Then asked me to verify  my billing zip code and then tod me if i dont pay my bill today ill be  shut off. Luckily i paid just this morning.

I received a call from this number, a message was left requesting I call an 800#, 800 - 934 - 6951.  It could very well be a  legit call as they already had the last 4 of my acct #.

Hello Idiots - There is no Scam here on this number 480-263-2013 - As others have indicated, this number is a outsource of Sprint as a reminder that your Sprint Bill is due - Some of your folks, obviously arent compentent enough to no the difference and just because you didnt receive a message doenst mean its a scam.  there are laws within the FDCPA or regulations for creditiors for those that dont know what FDCPA is that doesnt allow more than one contact per day or every 3 days and thats why some companies dont leave a message.

Pay your bill on time and you won't be called by this number.  I get a call from the number every time my bill is past due.  It may be a company that is contracted by Sprint to do collection calls, but they are legit.  They are not scamming or fraud calls.  People really freak out over this stuff. Pay on time.

Actually, it is Sprint. I was late with my payment and this is the number that called me. It's not spam. It's legitimate.

Is not...I called Sprint Corporate because the caller insisted on my pin and the number they were claiming to be mine was and never has been mine. I did not give my pin. Srint corporate confirmed I did the right thing. If in doubt people....hang up and call Srint Corporate. They are more than happy to officially assist you.

} every time my bill is past due

Yet you want to scold us like in a dozen other comments to "pay on time". That's rich. Please tell us how your theory explains all the nag calls to people who owe nothing or don't have a Sprint account.

Yes, certainly, since we all know that customer databases are never raided by hackers or exploited by rogue employees.

I am a customer service representative for ATT, now before you all start, I know this does not make me an expert on Sprint. However, I have had Sprint service going on almost ten years, my mother has had tmobile for longer than it I can remember, and my husband has a Verizon work phone. It has been my experience that the major companies operate pretty much the same. Now, as I said I am a rep for ATT, however I am not EMPLOYED BY AT&T. I work for a company named SYKES, which is only one out of many of the companies that AT&T outsources their calls to. Phone support is a job with extreme turnover rates, and I mean EXTREME. Most likely you are talking to a relatively new rep, so keep that in mind along with the fact that the rep has a massive amount of information to keep track of. I had twelve weeks of training and I still wasn't prepared for everything . AT&T, Sprint, Verizon etc hire companies like the one I work for to take payments, change plans, upgrade phones, adjust bill errors, and yes even hound people who are late on their bills. These companies all have their own numbers and are sometimes a regular landline/business type number that is not an 800 number or 888 number. The number that is calling you all is, like others have stated, a "nag line". They are asking you to call back from the short code on your phone or to call a legitimate toll-free 800 number they provide. If it was a scammer, they would have you calling back the number that they called from or they wouldn't leave a message hoping you would call the number on the caller Id back. Anytime I forget to pay by the due date this number or one similar is the call I receive. Now some people have pointed out they ask for someone you don't know. Chances are the person who had your number before owed Sprint some kind of money for past due bills or broken contract and your number is the last known for that person. Same as if they call asking about a different number, the number. They are asking about is the old Sprint number that money is owed on, but your number may be the last known. Or it could be a mistake, there are millions of Sprint customers so it stands to reason over the course of these past five years this thread has been open. A few mistakes will have been made. When you call the short Code or 800 number most likely your talking to an outsourced employee. Since it may not have been from the same company that rep works for, there is no way that they will know all the numbers of all the companies and all that companies locations phone numbers to tell you if it's a fraud or not. When we look up a number to give you we have the main 800 number for that department, however when you call that number an automated system transfers you to different companies and different parts of the country. If you call that number and get Kentucky today, you may call the same number and get California tomorrow and they may be two different outsourced companies even though you called the same number each day. Unless your talking to an actual Sprint Supervisor, the rep your talking to won't be able to tell you where that number came from. They just don't have the tools. Also, sometimes, the number they leave on voicemail is last four of your account number, not your phone, which are two completely different numbers. To make a long story short, I have responded to these calls, paid my bill with my debit or credit and never had any issues or anything stolen. The calls immediately stopped after paying the past due amount. They are just reminding you that you missed your due date.

I didnt answer the call because i dont answer numbers i dont know. They left an automated voicemail saying it was Sprint. They said my name and that it was regarding my account ending in, then said the correct last 4 digits of my account number, and said to call them back at 800-934-6951. I have been late on my bill, I am pretty sure this is legit.
