called my cell but didnt leave message

called my home phone around 8am and didn't leave a message

I called the number back and it's from Rural Metro (Ambulance) Collections

I have received three calls from this #. It seems to be from Arizona and some ambulance service. They leave a 1-800 call back # and a reference 3. I am reporting this through the Do-not-call government bureau.

Its from an ambulance collection agency. Their collection deparpment is in arizona but they have ambulances from san diego to northern Cali. They charged me $1200 for a 4 mile ride and I refuse to pay. and said they would not accept my insurance (blue cross) which is now defunct.

Do yourselves a favor and dont answer the phone or leave personal info on your answering machine. they are trying to verify ur phone number and where u live.

the message said please call the ambulance business office.

Just showed up on my caller id as being in Phoenix, Arizona.  Didn't leave a message.  I am in Georgia so I don't know what an ambulance service in Arizona would want with me.  If that is in fact what they are.

Started a couple weeks ago, asking for some man I've never heard of, and they would call and leave about a voicemail a day asking for him.  Tried calling back, but no response. And now i get about 1 or 2 missed calls a day from them, about ready to change my phone number if this keeps up.

you CANNOT LIST THEM WITH A DO NOT CALL LIST!!!
They are Rural Metro and the 1800 they give is for you TO CALL THEM and take care of the bill you owe!
They usualy call because they need to verify your insurance.

That who these people are...GEE answer the phone and give them your insurance info OR call them back...
Look I HATE COLLECTION AGENCYS...I REALLY DO..
But unfortunately my disabled husband has had to use an ambulance more than once and YES even thou we have given the insurance info to them THEY ALWAYS LOSE IT!!!
They USUALY ARE NICE...so don't avoid them cause if you do for too long they will put it on your credit record and TRUST ME YOU DON'T want that!!!
There are State Run Agencies that can help you with getting this covered if you can't pay...yes I know because my 23 yr old son is without insurance and he had to go by ambulance and St Josephs applied for medical insurance thru the state for him...
ANyways im giving you all this info because we ALL are embarrassed by this and we ALL hate having to tell someone that we don't have insurance and etc...
I do have insurance on me and they reported it to the credit record and well im having to fight that but if I had just taken care of it when it happend I wouldn't be in that position...
And NO they do not send bills out like they should...they tell you that they do but they don't!!!

Several calls a week from this number.  No message when no one answers and a recorded message about an ambulance service when we do.  We've never used an ambulance service.  My step-son in New York did, but why would a service from California call us? Can't figure it out or get it to stop.

Trudi,You sound like a commercial for rural metro. They keep leaving me messages about a bill for ambulance services that were never asked for or used by anyone in my family. I would be very careful,sounds like a scam waiting to happen.

They keep calling me repeatedly, I dont live in California or Arizona, and I haven't been in a hospital for maybe years and never been in an ambulance.  I tried to call them back but I keep getting busy signals when I'm about to be put through to a representative.  The call center for it may be closed by now, so I'll try to get through tomorrow during the day and get them to stop calling!

whitepages.com said this is a cell phone number. Doesn't sound like a legit business to me.

I agree with Raider, my only ambulance trip was with Gold Cross out of SLC UT...and I paid all my debt to them within one month. How is it these people are calling me 5 years later from a state I havent been to for 20 years?
