Answering machine picked up 21 seconds of silence, with one little blip about 2 seconds in at around 5pm.

I've been doing business with Go Daddy for years... this is the first call I've received from them to my knowledge.

I don't specifically object to the call, but the dead air is unnerving. I do hope they get their act together with that!

I do a lot of business with GoDaddy and I sign up many of my clients with GoDaddy because of the number and types of tools and services they offer the accounts.  I have had 90% good experience with customer service, and these calls they make to be sure everything is set up ok are no exception.

I think it's nice that they call (my clients don't always know what they are doing on the Web, but they just tell GoDaddy they hired somebody to do it for them), even though I rarely have a question.  They've never tried to sell me anything, although I'm sure they do offer their value-added services if it's something you express a need or curiosity about.

These are NOT calls to be angry about :-)  If you have everything you need and have no questions, just tell them that and they don't call again.  There's no "list" that you're on when you get this call. They are just saying, "everything ok with what you just bought?"

Jack - I am right there with you - - these people complaining about 1 phone call are a joke....

they called my cel, which I find is rude since airtime isn't free like land lines.

They called me early on a Sat. am and woke me up. I hung up. Don't think so. The fact that I bought a domain name is a good clue as to how I prefer to do business. If you really need to reach me, you've got my email address. Use it. I bought the privacy option for a reason.

Maybe I'll just call and cancel my account altogether and request a refund. Who makes this type of business call at an unreasonable hour on a weekend?!

I just signed up for domain/hosting with GoDaddy.com. You all obviously forgot to check off the box at the very bottom that says, "Do not share my information with 3rd party affiliates." This is a different checkbox than the one you pay $20 for to be listed privately in the global who-is database.

Left a quick message to welcome me to GoDaddy after I purchased a domain.

Personally, I prefer the option provided to both parties by a signs I saw in a store; "All complaints must be submitted to Management in writing" & "All communication shall be by written Post" - I would also prefer companies communicate with me in writing via the postal service. Once a week shredding is a lot easier than 7am phone calls and frankly there is little in customer service so urgent it needs a phone call. Where I come from, door to door sales were banned years ago because of their harassing and dubious nature. I am looking forward to the day the same ban is applied to telemarketing.

Ha, I got a call from this number today - I'm glad I didn't answer it.

Just signed up with GoDaddy last night (about 8 hours ago), and just got a call from them.  I don't answer numbers I don't recognize, but the voicemail I got didn't even mention their name! "Please call customer development at xxx-xxx-xxxx", didn't even say why or what it was regarding.  Please!

yeah it's go daddy. i just bought a domain last night.

Woman called during my lunch break and left a message that was confusing -- did not identify the business -- saying if I have questions about their products, to call back. This is obnoxious!

This number is GoDaddy customer service... you probably signed up for one of their services.

Rec'd VM from 480-505-8859 - 4:30pm on a week day - no message - just inaudible whispers & sounds, so did a reverse # search and Googled number which came up with multiple sites showing complaints.  If this was an actual GoDaddy service call or even a sales call - I wouldn't have gone further - but this one was not legit.  Maybe it was just one of their CS reps irritated at having to work on the Friday before the 4th of July.  This is the only call I have received from GoDaddy (have several sites listed with them).

why would anyone need a call after buying a 5 dollar domain name at 4 am? I am transferring registrars immediately.

I got a call from this number as well. I agree if they were going to call me each time I purchased a domain name I wouldn't have went with them.

The calls I've gotten from GoDaddy were no big deal. Usually a very nice person checking in to see if had any problems or questions. No sales pressure. We ARE clients of theirs, so there's no reason to get all bent out of shape when we get a phone call from them.

I use godaddy quite a bit, and they call me twice daily now... I'm going to go change my contact information, Bob thinks he's a marketing genius, I think he's a prick... stop calling me bob!
