- NotTodayGot a call from a man with an Indian accent today. Said he was calling from blue cross blue shield and wanted to verify my address. I told him I didn’t have bc/bs so he then says he represents multiple insurance agencies. He hung up on me after I told him I’m not covered by any of them. Had my name and a previous address.

- KiraGot a call from this number asking to verify my insurance information. I got very angry at the caller and told them any information they would need would be provided by my company. She kept trying and eventually she hung up on me when I told her she could reach out to my company if she actually needed information. (Did not give her company name).

- ICUReceived 4 phone calls from this number today. Irritated I finally picked up the phone to see what it was about. Man with a slight Indian accent answered and said he was with blue cross blue shield and started giving me information about myself including my address, phone number and d.o.b. I told him I already have insurance through another company and Wanted to know why he was calling. He told me he isn’t selling insurance just needed to confirm information. Again I told him I have insurance and I am not confirming anything until he told me what the call was about. I said this three times before he hung up the phone. Tried calling ge number back and every time it hung up.

- Notalemming replies to BigAThis is not about health insurance, it's about fraud, and it should be obvious that he/she meant FTC.
- NotalemmingSpent 12 minutes on the phone with "Jack Lee" at a business supposedly located on W. Russell Rd., Las Vegas, yet the phone number is routed through Arizona, and the CID comes up as "Name Unavailable". He claims to be updating insurance information for several insurances. No insurance company uses a non-identifier, nor do they simply contact you out of the blue for personal information. I asked him for his personal information, which he was not willing to divulge, except I was able to get him to admit he was from China, not that the accent did not tip me off. So I engaged him in a conversation of what is fraud, and how he has made a mistake in working for a fraudulent entity. I was amazed that he lasted so long with our conversation. My guess is that they make some kind of commission when they score on the personal info. What was interesting was that the information he had on me was dated, but somethings were accurate, however, I did not confirm anything. Listen up, folks, these scammers only need bits of information to finish off the "puzzle". One of the key identifiers of personal information is one's date of birth. So much can be done with just the few items of info that these scammers are asking to confirm. If they are unwilling to let you call the insurance company directly....big RED FLAG!

- CM+1 (480) 873-6475 was the number. A man with a heavy Indian accent claimed he was from Blue Cross and needed to verify my info. He had called me twice today before I answered.

- CTGot a call from a lady with an accent today. She said she was calling from my health insurance (doesn't say the name) and that she was calling to verify my address. She said my old address which was a red flag. I asked her what health insurance company she was calling from and she claimed that the company worked for United, Anthem, BC/BS, etc. She asked for my new address and I said no, so she hung up LOL.

First said he was with blue cross blue shield, then asked me to state my insurance company name because call was being recorded for quality purposes. - MMReceived a call from this number claiming to be Blue Cross Blue Shield asking me to verify information. I said BCBS was not my insurance provider and she said that she knew but that she still needed information verified. Had an address for me that was at least five years old. I responded that I didn't believe this to be true and that I wouldn't be providing any information, so she immediately hung up.

- Hopefully OKGot a call from someone claiming they were BCBS. I was suspicious, but I couldn't find anything on google about this specifically being a scam, so I went along with it somewhat. Figures that it's a new scam.
They had a pretty old address, I so told them it was out of date, then told them my current address. They asked me to recite the name of the company that was calling, which was weird, and eventually just told me to say 'this is Blue Cross Blue Shield'. I did so, pretty suspicious but going along with it because I'm that type of person.
He asked me the name of my latest doctor. I said I don't remember or have any files with their name on it.
He asked me if I could find files for the name of my latest doctor. I said I don't have anything like that.
He asked me if I could tell him the name of the latest doctor I had I said I don't remember and don't have anything with their name on it.
He asked me if I could tell him the name of any doctors I've had in the past. I said I don't remember or have any files like that.
He said he would be patient and I could go look for files with any names of doctors I've had on them. I said I don't have anything like that.
He asked me if I could tell him the name of any doctor in my state. I said "any doctor?" He said "any doctor you've had". I told him I don't remember any of them or have any files with their names on it.
This continued for about 10 minutes before he hung up.
Hopefully they can't do much with just my name and address. Especially since I never use it for security questions.- Caller: definitely not Blue Cross Blue Shield

- CalledA person with a foreign accent, who claimed to be with United Healthcare, knew my home address, and asked me who my primary care doctor was, and the full name of the last doctor I saw. He kept pressing me on this information. I didn't give it to him, then he hung up. He called twice.
