Just got a cal for on this number.  A female with a heavy Indian accent says she is BCBS- asked me how I was doing today and I said “not interested” and hung up.  Blocked this number right after that.

I received a call from this number. The caller claimed to be calling from Blue Cross Blue Shield. I asked what the purpose of this phone call was and he said it was to update my medical information. I didn't realize it was a scam until after the call was over and I googled this phone number. They confirmed my date of birth, my home address, and asked me for the name of my primary care doctor. They asked me if I wanted to refill my prescriptions, to which I answered "no!" (I don't even have any prescriptions!).

Just got a call from a man with an Indian accent saying he was from Blue Cross/Blue Shield and wanted to "update my information". He had my name, address and birthday. I told him I would not  verify the information and that I would verify through the Union.

    NOT BORN YESTERDAY
Rec'd call from woman with heavy Indian accent stating she was calling for BCBS of FL and wanted to identify my info.  Told her I did not have BCBS of FL to which she quickly replied that she was calling for "all carriers."  Told her to give me her business phone number and I would call her back.  She stated she was not asking for debit or credit card info to which I still insisted she give me her number..... and she hung up.  I called back based on Call ID and number not in service.  No surprise there.

"Born at night but NOT BORN LAST NIGHT....."

Have received many calls from this group - I have answered and told them over and over not to call me. Tonight I decided to engage them
And see what they were up to.  Said they were calling from bCBS - told them I don’t have BCBS. Said they represent all the other insurance blah blah blah. Verified my address and birthdate them asked for my doctors name. Asked why they wanted that. Said so they could get me free prescription for a multi vitamin. I kept asking questions- what will this vitamin do for me, how does it work etc etc etc.  he then called me an idiot. I asked him “did you call me an idiot”. He said yes. I said really - did you call me an idiot. He again said yes. I asked several more times. I then told him I knew he was fraud etc etc. I was just trying to waste his time but was amazed he would actually call me an idiot. Nonetheless - total fraud ....but fun to play him and waste his time.

He said don't hang up on me, I hung up.  He called me right back didn't leave a message.  I just tried calling the number,  real fast busy signal.

This is an attempt to gain enough information to commit medical insurance fraud.  A couple of posters in this thread got far enough into the conversation that the caller started asking about pain and offering medications to deal with it. This is where the insurance fraud begins as they will create fake orders from your doctor for expensive custom compounded medications of dubious value and then bill them to your insurance.  You should alert your insurance company to these attempts so they can deny the fraudulent claims.
