Claiming to be BC/BS wanting information about my address.  When I mentioned they were a scam.... they hung up.

Indian man asked to verify insurance information over the phone, could barely understand and it was highly suspicious

I got a call from this # claiming to be Medicare. Started asking me all kinds of questions. Wanted to know my primary care physician. I told him that if he were from Medicare, he shld know that. I was very depressed when he called. So, after I figured out it was a scam, I gave him a big dose of profanities, he hung up & no more depression for me. Not tht it matters, but it was a person whose first language was NOT English. Now I am going to call Medicare! These SOB's are going DOWN.

Well folks, I called Medicare after I recvd one of these bogus calls. Medicare is filing a complaint. AND she gave me the # for FTC!  WE ARE NOT HELPLESS!!! CALL FTC# 1-877-382-4375. File a complaint. We'll at least curb this scam! And yes, my caller was a man with heavy foreign accent. Probably was calling from a jail. They're using the better inmates to make the calls. Paid prisons...But that's a whole different issue. Best of luck to all!

scam - caller wanted all sorts of personal data.  when will these fraudsters be nailed?

Caller claimed to be from Blue Cross Blue Shield. Wanted to verify my address, DOB, and primary care physician. Wanted my primary care to subscribe their multivitamin and pain relief cream.

received call 6/21/18 and lady didn't identify herself.  she said she wanted to verify my health insurance info.  I asked her what insurance company she was with and she said Humana and medicare.  I told her that wasn't my insurance and then she blurted our Blue Cross and I hung up.  Beware, this has to be a scam.

Stated he was calling from Blue Cross had my old address told him that was wrong asked him why he was calling said it was to update my information.  I told him I had already done that with Blue Cross and he was a scam.  I hung up.

My cell phone rang at the same time my husband's did.  I didn't answer since it was a number I didn't recognize.  Guy with heavy accent saying he was from BC/BS and needed to update our info.  My husband said he knew his name and address.  He said Blue Cross didn't need any information and he didn't think we even used them anymore.

BC-BS. Total scam!!!!

Indian accent . AJust gave this guy info about my primary doctor. Claimed he was from BC/BS and United Healthcare. I was confused and asked twice why he needed this info. He had my birthday, address, and name of my doctor already. I don’t understand what this could be about, but after seeing these posts, I would’ve hung up. I got scammed.

Indian gentleman said he was with blue cross United. Verified info then started asking me about pain i stated i had in the past. Asked him why he was asking these questions. He got snippy and i hung up.

This is a total scam.  A female with a heavy Indian accent called and said she was with BC/BS and that this was not a sales call.  After asking her to repeat herself 3 times - because, why not?- I told her that I do not have BC/BS and that I am not verifying anything.  I then hung up and blocked the number.  This is a complete and utter scam.  They called me on my Verizon mobile so I am pissed.

Your story was s closest to mine! The heavily Indian accented man was providing me with my health problems, my health insurance policy, my address and my year of birth. He wanted the know my PCP and the last Dr I saw. I told him bcbs would know that because claims were filed. At this point I thought it was legit, but stupid. I was yelling at them to read their own records. He then wanted to know my pain level for each of my problems (I’m yelling again). So he offers to send me prodycts(!!) in the mail. I told him if he has the correct address he can. I’m supplying no personal info. Then he asked if I wanted my rx’s set up to be mailed monthly. (I assume wanting cc or my address). He then was verifying my birth year, and he was 3 years off. He kept saying it over and over. Then he got it right and asked my DOB. I said “you are a [***] up scammer! I’m calling BCBS on you! And I hung up. He called right back...I ignored and he left no message. Can’t something (anything!) in this G-d foresaken country just go right? Can everything not be SO difficult in order to complete the simplest task?  And can we stop being so disgustingly inhumane. I cry all of the time because of what is happening here and how the world perceives us and hates us.  Can’t wait to move to the Dominican Republic. Or Canada...if they will take us!

Just got a call from 480-873-6475. It was a woman with a very thick accent. She wanted me to verify my address, name, birth date, doctor's name. I stupidly verified my address, she never said my first name though. Couldn't understand DOB for what she said. I pushed back when she wanted doctor info and told her I don't go to the dr. She wanted previous dr's name. I told her it was not relevant. We argued about the info and whether she was a scammer or not. She claimed she works for BCBS, United Healthcare, Medicaid, Cigna. We argued some more and she hung up. I then called my provider asking them if they would ever have someone make calls like that. They said no. They checked to see if there were any calls logged, and there had not been any. It's a scam. I'm sorry I answered as much as I did. I did try to call the number back, and you get a "this number has been disconnected" message. UGH!

A lady with an Asian accent called claiming to be with Blue Cross Blue Sheild. She had my address and year of birth and asked for my primary doctor's name. I asked her to please email me or provide me with some more information to know it wasn't a scam because I am dealing an insurance company, but she went on to say that she wanted to know if I had pain in my body and wanted to record me saying so, I guess? I put my husband on the phone because I told him I needed him to verify if it was a scam or if she was with our insurance.
She hung up as soon as he demanded her to tell him the purpose of her call in two sentences.  SCAMMERS.

Indian accent man X1 and woman X1 claimed to be calling from Blue Cross Blue Shield wanting to update information.  I called BC/BS of Florida and reported the repeated attempts to get information.  BC/BS attempted to call the number, and call cannot be completed.  I attempted to call also, and this is not a valid number.  This is a fraudulent caller - BEWARE.

Got a call from the number guy says he is from blue cross blue shield. He had my info asked for me to verify it I told him it was all wrong and gave him fake info. He then asked who my doctor was I told him Dr.acula he did not get it lol he asked me why I was seeing him I said because I’m not as [***] as you are and hung up

Had a call from this number. A lady thick indian accent. She needed to confirm my information. She was from my health insurance company, but couldn't tell me what that company was. BEWARE SCAMMERS!

Same experience as other threads. I denied that my address was correct and promptly hung up. Second attempt on 7/2/18, I did not answer, no voice message left.
