Plenty phone calls from this 485-282-2972 and other numbers about malfunction of my computer. Many times I played stupid games with them continuing conversation about my computer. The accent came from Asia, probably from China or North Korea... They never learned calling my landline phone number over and over. Its annoying...

Thick accent - same old Windows virus scam - decided to mess with him and said I don't have Windows; so he changed to Apple.  When I said no you said windows a couple of times he finally told me to go **** myself and I returned the suggestion.

Just like many others who posted here. This is a Windows Technical Support Scam. The caller had an indian accent and said they were receiving errors from my computer. I then asked him what was wrong with my computer (acting ignorant). He then proceeded speaking indian or some nonsense language im not familiar with because the answer wasn't on his written que card. I also asked him what company he was working for which he refused to answer. I proceeded to call him a liar and scammer then hung up. Block these ppl if u can.

485-272-2972 tried calling my home line a second time in 5 days.  Blocked!!!  Tired of these callers.  Glad to see others have the same complaint about this number.

Just got a call from a guy with an accent.  He did not even identify a company he was with.  He told me he wanted me to go to my computer and turn it on.  I told him that I would not do it and I would just my computer to Best Buy and have them look at it.  He said nothing and I hung up.

Call 6:20 pm.  I don’t answer unknown numbers figure they can leave a message. I was scammed once so very Leary.  Thankful for the info on this number as is difficult to trace numbers.

I keep getting calls from these scammers. Nothing I say dissuades them. They need to be shut down.

pc scam

Caller wanted to talk to me about Windows, on my PC.  I asked if he had called last week from CenturyLink.  He said no, he wants to talk about Windows on my PC.  I replied that I thought I recognized his voice and asked if he was "Fraud", he laughed and said, "Well you are still talking to me".  Then I asked if there was a fraud supervisor I could speak with.  He told me that he is the fraud boss.  Then I waited and he hung up.

My. Caller ID said this was from UNKNOWN. I Didn't pick up. No message was left.Then I punched the numbers onto Google and read the comments below and blocked this number.

Get frequent calls from this number - always says "name withheld" - guess what - I don't answer such a call and they never leave a message or a number, which I wouldn't call back on anyway.  It's always a scammer - don't need to listen to their lies.

This number calls my cell phone almost every single day. I don't answer it.. If it is legit business, they would leave a voice mail. Obviously it is not.

Haha, I actually did that the other day with 2 of these calls. I'm a male and they were calling for someone with a female name. I asked for the IP of the computer and she said there were 4 addresses but wouldnt give me any because she didnt believe I even knew what an IP address was. Asked for supervisor and got transferred 4 times. Guy finally gave physical address that wasnt mine and apologized then hung up. Others didnt believe me when I said wrong number. Second call I said "which computer, I have 5 in the house" and he instantly hung up.

Heavy Indian accent, asked how I was doing, then told me the call was about my computer when I asked what the call was regarding. Told um "what the hell are you doing calling me about my computer?!?" Hung up on um and blocked. Damn scammers

Thank you everyone for these posts, soooo helpful, and I think the "telepest" title is perfect.  I have three friends that fell for this, had to cancel credit card, closed checking accounts, and had to have their computer checked. It turned out to be a mess.  I received these all the time, don't answer.  Wish they could be shut down. You're probably right, they are calling from somewhere in the mid east.

Been getting this same call for years from different numbers.  I got tired of cursing them out and now just ignore the calls I haven't already blocked or don't recognize.  Must be a good paying scam for them to keep it up for so long.  Idiots.
