These days, most of these calls come from overseas call centers.  They are paid by the number of connected calls they make, so simply by answering the phone you have helped them out even if you swear at them or hang up.  They have NO motivation not to call you back if it means another connected call for their billing.

The Do Not Call Registry was a fine idea, but it only stops registered US companies.  Overseas call centers can commandeer US numbers easily enough and harass you without any worries over legal ramifications.

The only answers are to get laws changed to somehow enforce privacy or get cell phone companies to provide better protection.  That means call your congressperson and complain and call your cell phone carrier and complain.  This site is a good service, but only complaining or posting here will do create the change we all want.

They get it from your bank, the post office, anywhere you do business that you leave your phone #. They can legally *sell* your information once you give it to them. Check into it -- it is legal.

Keep calling them over & over on redial & press 1 for about 30 min. every day!

Everytime you get time call them on redial & press 1 over & over for as long a you can endure!

They're still at it. They called me today. I think they are using a random number generator and don't have any flying idea who they are calling, or care. they're just calling through the numbers looking for suckers.

Received a call from this phone number 503-468-5002, and no one was there. they waited few second before hanging up the phone.

Why would you pay off your credit card debt if you thought the computers were going to crash? Wouldn't you rack up as much debt as possible so when the computers crashed, it would all be erased?

I have received a few calls from this number.

I received a call to my cell phone.  I, like many others, have both my land line and my cell phone listed with the National Do Not Call Registry.

I did not answer the call, neither will I call them back.  But I am reporting this number as an unsolicited caller and therefore a lawbreaker.

I guess it takes all kinds . . . . . !

Your cell phone numbers were released a year ago. It was public news. Although this number says it comes from Oregon, the "do not call list" applies only to a US Business. Many calls originate in India. The "do not call list" numbers are actully sold to services in India. Our government at work!

I am at work and got a call from this number.  I was not here to answer it, but my 89 year old Mom is in a nursing home and I keep my cell on vibrate just in case.  I too am on the do not call registry.  I have no credit card debt so it is not a collection agency.  I don't need these calls at work.

I received a call from this number on my cell this morning.  No message nothing. Just hung up.  My cell phone is a business cell phone and I do not register the number with anyone so they just obviously bought a list.  The registery does not work.

This phone number keeps calling my home phone, cell phone and no one answer s when i pick up.
