Wife got a rude call demanding that I return the call of "Gary Walton", who sounded like he was from Mumbai, but claimed to be from the "Department of Legal Affairs at the U.S. Treasury".  

Realizing from above that this was a scam (not to mention the Oakland CA telephone number), I decided to have some fun with these scumbags.  When they ask who was calling I told them my name was Ben Dover, as in bend over and kiss my #ss.  

I think I'll be Mike Hunt next...

One week later: Same scam-caller from Ph 510-545-7912 dared to call me back.
Phone number forwarded to police!

This number had been calling me twice a week over two months. It became extremely annoying so I decided to call back hoping it would cease. The Indian man from the "Department of Legal Affairs" who had been calling me picked up the phone. The man asked for my phone number and then searched me up and found my name. Knowing it was a scam, I asked for more information and told him I thought it seemed like a scam. He replied by screaming "it no scam!  F**k you you motherf**ker!" And hung up. I plan on calling HIM three times a week for the next three months

You are correct of course.  They are Foreign nationals and their calls are coming from outside the USA.  When some low life SOB tries to scam me out of my money I can be a damn big racist against them.

I received a call from this number. I did not answer it. Then I got one ring and it stopped, then it started ringing relentlessly, then another one ring. I picked up the phone and heard what sounded like a lot of voices, I slammed the phone down. They called repeatedly for the next 15 minutes. It finally stopped. Thanks for all the posts, I will never pick up on that number.

received call & was told I was party to a lawsuit filed against me; no details given; caller had heavy indian/mumbai accent; told him to contact my attorney

I called my attorney today 08/13/2014. THIS IS A SCAM I was advised to not call them back. My attorney also told me to google the number

I got many calls and messages from a guy with an Indian accent saying he's from the US Treasury Dept and that I owe the Federal $350 in taxes for 2010. He threatened me to be in a legal mess if I don't pay asap today. He is definitely a scammer!!!  He keeps calling me still!  Where can I report this number???  Please help!

Had a phone call from 510 545 7912 from Oakland CA. number had voice mail set up as well. Received a call back saying I had a felony and in order to stay out of prison I had to pay $$$ Said his name was allan green then henry todd. He also had a foreign accent. Stated he worked for the Department of legal affairs for the US Treasury department. When I told him that I know the US legal system much better than a foreign scammer and I would be the first to know if I broke the law. He told me "okay, bye bye." and hung up. Then he called back and said he wouldn't stop calling until I was in prison. I did report this to the police (They can't do anything, but at least if they receive enough calls they can let others know)

These people picked the wrong number to call!  My husband is a detective.  I told the MF to come and get me, I'll be waiting for them.  I filed a report with the police department.  Hoping to have some fun with this!

I received the same call.  Saying I owed taxes.

I actually just received a recorded message from 510 545-7912. It was a man's voice with a very heavy Indian accent, hard to make out exactly what he was saying but suffice to say, I was in VERY serious trouble and needed to call him back at a number he left (not sure if it was the same number) ASAP so he could help me out of the problem before I got arrested. I believe he said he was from the Dept of Legal Affairs and that I had an enforcement action against me...frankly, I was surprised it wasn't the usual scammer calling to tell me he was from Microsoft and that my Microsoft Windows had a terrible virus and he was going to fix the bug. All I had to do in order to have my Windows work properly (and they always are very aggressive and rude on the phone with great urgency, even if I tell him I don't have a computer) is go to my computer and give him my VPN so he could basically take over my computer. Sometimes I play along and they always get so excited until I give him the VPN and it's usually something like: F U C K  Y O U.

Got a call from them today claiming that they were the US Dept of Treas calling because I had not resolved an issue with my 2012 taxes after they sent several notices (no notices were sent from the gov).  They threatened if I did not resolve that officers would be at my door in one hour to arrest me.  The guy gave his name as Allen Green and he had a heavy Indian accent.....I smelled scam and pushed back for further verification information and he hung up.

I had a message on answering machine from 510-545-7912.  It was a recorded message. The first part of the message was cut off, I guess because as soon as my outgoing message came on the recorded message from the dumb@sses started. But the person speaking was hard to understand and that I had to call them back before legal action was taken.  The first thing I did was go to this site and type the number in and I was right, it was a scam.  

The government or whoever needs to put a handle on this scamming [***].

Everyone should call these guys back from a blocked phone # (on a verizon cell phone dial *6715105457912 - this blocks your caller ID and calls them) and when they answer or if you get voicemail, play the "you just got owned" song from youtube ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sokvu4wTKiw )
