Call automatically blocked by my phone system. Caller ID only repeated the number.

Called for the second time today. This time caller ID said "Children's Cance". Still blocked.

I don't care what charity or other group that does not have to honor the Do Not Call List....they dishonor my wishes not to be called and they will NEVER receive one penny from me! That is exactly what I tell them. They want me to consider them, send me a letter in the mail!

I may have posted the following message in the past as according to my computer tracking I have blocked this number 14 times since March of 2013!  It is a SCAM and a SPOOFED number.
Those of you that let the calls roll to your answering machine, voicemail or worse yet answered the call you have just ensured you will receive more of these calls.  Maybe not from the same number, but they’ve just identified your number as valid which assures more calls of these 'faux telemarketer calls'.  (I call them faux telemarketer calls as they are generally not legitimate telemarketers, but simply scams!)  Most of the initial calls originate from software (aka; ‘robocalls’) – once your number is identified as active, then a real person may be there on the follow up calls.  The majority of the calls are from a 'spoofed' number therefore the area code, exchange or even the entire number displayed on your caller ID probably does not accurately reflect the origin of a call.
If you have the capability to ‘BLOCK’ the number that called – that is the best action.  Since 2010 I have logged and currently block nearly 600 of these nuisance calls.
If you don’t have a blocking option, keep a phone with caller ID close by and simply hit ‘talk’ and ‘off’ simultaneously.  This will reduce the number of nuisance calls, but not stop them.
If you really want to block them – in addition to a number of cordless phones available there is software that a layman can install.  Of the over 500 calls I’ve blocked, I've only added 16 over the last 3 months.  (Most of those are from a new series of numbers that were not previously blocked)
So the message is simple – blocking works….  Using the aforementioned processes I seldom have a second call from a given number.  But, when I do - I love it when "Number Blocked" shows on my 'Caller ID!!!  (When they call repeatedly it causes me to wonder about how stupid some of these dummies really are!)
PS:  I think Call Notes should add a 'Call Type' for 'Spoof' or 'Scammer Calls'!

Cancer charity scam

I know for a fact that a felon and other common criminals work the phones for this supposed children's charity. These shameless people will never get one cent from me.

THIS IS A SCAM!!!!  Do not pick up the phone if you don't know for sure who is calling!!  If everybody would not pick up the phone they would stop bothering everybody.

Charity Navigator has become aware of the following information in connection with this charity:
On May 19, 2015, "the Federal Trade Commission and 58 law enforcement partners from every state and the District of Columbia have charged four sham cancer charities and their operators with bilking more than $187 million from consumers." The press release the FTC published named the following in the federal court complaint: "Cancer Fund of America, Inc. (CFA), Cancer Support Services Inc. (CSS), their president, James Reynolds, Sr., and their chief financial officer and CSS's former president, Kyle Effler; Children's Cancer Fund of America Inc. (CCFOA) and its president and executive director, Rose Perkins; and The Breast Cancer Society Inc. (BCS) and its executive director and former president, James Reynolds II. CCFOA and Perkins, BCS, Reynolds II and Effler have agreed to settle the charges against them. Under the proposed settlement orders, Effler, Perkins and Reynolds II will be banned from fundraising, charity management, and oversight of charitable assets, and CCFOA and BCS will be dissolved.  Litigation will continue against CFA, CSS and James Reynolds Sr." For more information, please see the Federal Trade Commission press release and the FTC complaint.

Charity, DNC does not apply to them. You have to tell them to place you on their internal DNC list, then when they do not and become a nuisance/harassment caller can you send complaints to the authority's.

First of all to Telco IT Guy you are an a$$.  Take it down a notch on your over inflated opinion of yourself.  Second, regardless of whether this is a scam or charity:  DO NOT PICK UP THE PHONE!!!!!  If everybody would stop answering the phone on these calls the trash would eventually give up.  Complaining to various agencies doesn't do any good but go ahead and flood the FTC with complaints on scams and do not call violators because IT IS THEIR JOB TO DEAL WITH THE PROBLEM EVEN THOUGH THEY DON'T.  Ask the presidential candidates what they are going to do about it and get it on record.

I pick up phone & start cursing them out & asking what the F do they want?!.  Very polite woman asks for someone else in the house & without missing a beat, even though I am cursing her out, keeps talking as though everything was 100% ok & insists in a 'reassuring' tone that 'that's ok, I'll just call back later"
I yell at her "DON'T", but she's still robotically polite and says 'bye'.

These people must be jailed for terms of no less than 20 years for harassment,they called me 17 times in 4 days,this is clear and obvious harassment,the scum of society must be punished,they give little money to the intended group they collect for and make a tidy profit.enough said,i have done my research

Call came in, I answered, nobody there.  Typical boiler room situation.

Called 10/26/16 9:52am CDT.  No msg left.

CIDF-childrens cancer, did not answer, left robo message on recorder, help to reduce credit card interest rates.
