They called and no message left, so I already know in most cases it's a scam. When are these low life jerks will ever get the message, if I'm interested in anything, I'll call you. I'd like to see these jerks get a $1,000 fine, paid to us, and 1 year in jail for such calls.

Repeat calls from this number but I never answer if I do not recognize on caller ID.

That is the best way to handle unfamiliar callers. I made the mistake of answering these calls and it took a while for me to stope entertaining them.

These type of calls, among many, come in on my landline which I keep for DSL and 911. I pay extra only for calling
number delivery and have turned off my answering machine (and they still continue to call). since my family and friends know
to call me on my mobile #, I never answer. My suggestion is pay a little more for caller ID and memorize your friend
and family #'s and don't answer those you don't recognize. I'm sure within the next ten years they'll get a clue that no
one's home that give's a darn.

Well Betsy I have been patient. Over ten years of patience as a matter of fact and I still get the calls. My new tack will be to answer with the speaker button. I just want to hear what they'll say while getting no response. WTH.

Getting unwanted calls

A mere three rings, then a hangup -- the ultimate insult for anyone who was racing to the phone to see who it was. Caller ID, unhelpfully, reads "Mason OH."

I have the Panasonic wireless phone I got from Amazon.  It does a good job blocking the numbers.

You can turn the first ring off to let the caller ID come in ..  and with the number blocked, the phone only lights up, says blocked call ..  and that is it.  There is just silence.  I do recommend the Panasonic wireless phones for the call blocking capabilities and the ability to silence the first ring so it has a chance to receive the caller ID and block the call.

Same here man, ran to the phone no one there, I'm tired of these scumbags, how do I get a job calling ppl and just be a pain in the A$& and make $ doing it...

I've been getting daily calls like this (twice today on this particular number)--nobody answers, no message. My new policy (since I have an iphone and I can) is that any call that comes in where I don't know the number and they don't leave a message (I do not pick up anymore) automatically gets blocked. If this was a legitimate call (a bill collector or something), first of all, they'd leave a message. Second of all, they'll be sending something in the mail. I won't miss taking care of something legitimate. In the meantime, I don't have to deal with it.

I have no idea who called.  Answered the phone to dead air.  Waited about three seconds and hung up.  

Downloaded mr number to block spammers. I check this site to see what others are saying. It works!

I got unwanted call from nbr 513-229-9279 on my cell phone at work Monday morning!  Please STOP  these solicitors from calling peoples cell phones!!  

Area codes grow more exotic with each call.  New addition does originate from Cincinnati/Mason, Ohio.  Call came in today at 10:56 AM and is verified as Telemarketer.  Into voicemail, dead air/no message!  Agree with above posts.  Answer no unidentified, unsolicited calls.  Verizon Unlawful Call Center advised that these calls have increased over the last two years as technology improves while the economy does not.  One positive note might be that as these callers connect with anything, including answering machines, they are charged each call.  Since some of them have learned to disconnect after three rings, before voicemail kicks in, this just might be costing them something.  Thank you, everyone, for information and input.  Happy, healthy, safe Thanksgiving to all.
