Once again, this number called and hangs up before the machine answers.  No idea what they're selling or wanting, just constant, annoying calls.

Tried the e-mail today and it came back undeliverable.  I just don't answer the phone, but it still means stopping every time they call to see who it is. I am also on the do not call list.  Hasn't done a bit of good.

I've gone back through some of these entries for this number.  I normally don't answer these calls and it's easy to recognize it would be a scam call from the CID.  It looks like they've been calling me at least since April.  They do not remove you from their list despite requesting they do so.  They sidestepped my direct inquiry about who hired them, for what purpose.  They said the company is ORC and no matter how I rephrased the question, they wouldn't tell me what that stands for.  They claim to be a survey company that wants to ask about "products I use."  I asked the woman: why would I tell you such intimate information when you won't tell me what ORC stands for, nor who paid you to collect the information, for what purpose, nor who else they share it with?  Will you pay me for my information?  She said she'd take me off the list but we all know that's malarkey.  I answered even though I normally ignore, I felt like messing with them.  When I tried to call back just to see what would happen, the recording said it cannot be reached...  It may be a spoofed number, and looking through some of your entries here, I see that the name of their company changes.  So I satisfied my curiousity, and won't answer again.

...  And you are saying that here, why??  Do you think they come to this website just to see your request, and that they will recognize you by your screen name?  When you go to a movie and the coming attractions say "coming soon to a theater near you," do you think the movie screen is speaking directly to you, and knows where you live, and which theater you're in?  This is a place where we can support each other, it's not a website scammers and surveyors come to, to make sure they aren't bothering you!

Yeah, but if you block their numbers, they will just keep phishing and spoofing new ones, like whack-a-mole at the state fair. They can get under your radar once each time.  Better, easier, cheaper to just peek at your CID and ignore the call.  I also, leave my audible call screening on, and can hear it without getting off the sofa.  Most of these guys hang up either during my recorded outgoing message, or at the end.  I have found that significantly reduces the number of calls (except for local political calls, because politicians don't care who they annoy).  As the Irish say, "better the devil you know, than the devil you don't."  So let them keep using the CID you recognize, and ignore them.  Honestly, my scam calls stay to a minimum that way.

They aren't going to check this website to see your request, and don't know who or where you are, anyway.  And they don't care.  Why are you asking them to stop here at 800notes, when they have no connection to this website?  And they already know they are annoying you, silly.  They don't care.

...gets information when they answer.  It's useful to see how many nuisance calls are being made, even without what you would consider "useful" information....

When I see the number pop up on the caller ID, I just take my AM radio and put the speaker by the mouth piece which generates LOUD static noise.  Maybe they will remove my number from their call list thinking it is a computer or a dead line, but in the meantime, I'm sticking to them. with a big smile.

This number called the office I work for but did not identify themselves when I answered. The woman calling simply asked for the person in charge of the business insurance and, when informed that person is out of the office, stated they are an outbound call center so cannot leave a message & will call again another day. She can call all she wants, she won't be transferred to anyone. If you can't identify yourself, you aren't worth our time. All the CID said was MRSI.
