got the phone call many times, don't know from who

I answered phone, guy said his name & that he was looking for an accountant for an auto parts wholesaler.  Right.......... if that were true, then when looking for a listing for this number, a real company or name would show up!

goodaccountants.com - They are a marketing company for accountants.  This is one of their outgoing numbers.  They either misdialed your number or were given a bogus number.  My phone only shows the number, name.  Not sure why the text was weird.

They called and left no message. Caller ID, Said " Good, Accountant"

I got a call from this number too it showed up as "good accountant" ? I make it a policy never to reply or answer any calls that don't at least show up as someone I can Id. If someone calling, and doesn't give me there name, how can you trust them and why even talk to them?

Make them stop calling.  Aggrivating is mild remark I can make

Phone number is for a company named Good Accountants.com  They want to know if you are interested in working with them for potential accounting and tax work in your area.

Caller left message that he had a 501c3 in the area & wanted to know if I was interested in audit work.  Did not call back

they left message - i have had this before w/ similar companies.  they call cpas/accountants phone numbers which they have purchased from a list.  they act like it's a real referral, but they really want you to sign up and pay for leads.  i actually tried this out w/ another company but was a waste of money.  i got a few numbers but when i emailed or called (right away, as they specificy you have to), i never got one reponse.

They are a reputable company.  I've done well with them over the last 9 months and have grown my accounting practice by more than $60,000 using them.

I signed up with Good Accountants.com for six months and paid their $5,000 fee and didn't get a single client. The fee was to be refunded and they are refusing to do so. What a waste!!!

I've been with them since May 2006 and have made over 100,000 with them.  I just resigned in their $25,000 marketing program.  I don't think they have the ability to make everyone a success story however they use effective advertising and have gotten me clients I could have never gotten on my own.  You may be in an area that their ads are not reaching or there may be less traction.

So the new scam is telling me they have a client in my area, referral etc.
They get to the fact they are charging a referral fee at the end.

Don't they understand not interested.

I just landed a $20,000 client in Rahway, New Jersey from them.  The first client I landed a month or so ago from them was only a $1,500 client.  I joined them in January of this year for $5,000 and have several months left on my marketing program so I'm way ahead with $16,500 in billing.  If I don't get anything else from them over the next few months I've still more than tripled my investment in less than 6 months.  I certainly couldn't get that from the stock market.  The clients are also very good ones.  They only call you when they have a client to offer you in your area and no local presence.  I probably will resign again with them and I would definitely recommend them.

I never take referrals from someone who is not a trusted source.  I received an obviously scripted call about some manufacturing company in my area looking for a CPA.  Even if I was accepting new clients, which I am not, I would never call back a scripted telemarketer for a client referral!

I just received an email with a video from them. The video featured an accountant named Richard F. Hayes who is based in Orlando, Florida. He claims he made $80,000 with GoodAccountants.com in less than 90-days.  So I called him up to see if he was authentic.  He exists and confirms it.  Amazing!

If there is any CPA I can call and verify if this is a scam.

I just called BBB and they said that they have heard complaints about this company. I plan to put them to rest with agencies.

I've checked them out with the Better Business Bureau and they have 3 complaints dating back to 2007.  They've been in business since 2005 so that's not so bad for a marketing company their size.  Two of the complaints were from accountants they put into collection for non-payment of their fee and the other from a CPA who billed $70K with them but said she was promised $100K.  I called GA directly and they released their BBB files to me which says to me they are for real.
