- NJ-CPA replies to Danny CPAI've checked them out with the Better Business Bureau and they have 3 complaints dating back to 2007. They've been in business since 2005 so that's not so bad for a marketing company their size. Two of the complaints were from accountants they put into collection for non-payment of their fee and the other from a CPA who billed $70K with them but said she was promised $100K. I called GA directly and they released their BBB files to me which says to me they are for real.
- taxman2508 replies to BHall CPAWhy do you think you didn't receive a client? The other posts are so positive.
- DarrenCPA| 1 replyWe worked with GoodAccountants, we paid $5000 for the initial fee. They supposedly had a client immediately, and that client ended up going with another CPA who was also a GoodAccountants CPA. That was a year and a half ago. Since then they've sent nothing but terrible referrals, people who have spent out time more than anything. It's been a terrible service, completely a sham and we should have known better. I would highly discourage anybody from using this service, very much a scam.

- New Jersey CPA replies to DarrenCPAWhat I don't get is if they got you appointments with real companies however you did not land the client why does that make it a sham or a scam? You obviously understood they are a marketing company when you hired them to find you clients. They cannot gaurantee that you will closed the deal you have to do that for yourself and yes some clients want to meet with more than a single accountant especiallhy if they are a large company paying large fees. It's normal. Sounds like you are knocking them because you didn't get the client. Not fair. I've done well with them. More than $50K on my $5,000 investment with them.

- got2bg2300we got a call from them yesterday....a guy named oliver twist or something said they had a $7 million dollar client in our area that he had been retained to find an accountant for...yeah right- i can smell a scam a mile away so i let him go on. He told me the company had over 300 employees- at which point the bells and sirens were going off- since that is only $ 21000 or so in sales per employees. You would think a company that works with accountants would have a better line since that is barely enough to pay each employee- especially in a high tech area such as aircraft- as he indicated. He then got to the punch line- which was "Good Accountants.com" at which point i nuclear blasted him. Their CEO, Johanna Laurent, has run this scam before and she is totally unable to deliver. If they have gotten you clients, you have been lucky. My experience was one of lies and frustration - I told him this and hung up. BEWARE!!!!!!!!! VERY BAD THINGS! i'm going to create a website blog just for this...i think i will call it Goodaccountantsdotcomisascam.com. Then all of their tricks will be collected in one place!!!

- A REAL CPAThis SCAM OUTFIT has called me three times now !!
These people are such SCUM - they post on here as CPAs who "say" they have made money off of themselves !!
If they have a client making $15 million dollars - BELIEVE ME - the Company doesn't need anybody like them to find them a CPA. The CPA's would be beating down the Company's door !!
And, besides a client-CPA relationship is a very personal relationship and is DONE BY REFERRALS not telemarketers !!!!!!
IF they DARE call me again ....I WILL REPORT THEIR SCAM TO MY STATE ASSOCIATION !!- Caller: WHO KNOWS ???

- Asheville CPAThis number just called me saying they have a $2.4 Million dollar commerical landscape client in my area that needs a good CPA, but I'd have to pay a $5,000 6month fee to be a "member" so they can refer me. I'm in the WNC area and this community is so small, if there really is that type of client, it seems that they could find there own CPA. Thoughts??

- STLCPA| 1 replyI am concerned with the amount of advetorials from this company - they essentially create the content and have 3rd parties post it under the disguise of a legitimate review of their service. Whenever I see positive posts, they all look the same "I made a $5,000 investment and made $15,000 in three months" and it looks like the content of a paid poster. I have been in advertising and marketing for many years and this company just sounds like many of the other similar scams run before.

- Eric replies to STLCPAjust giving 2 cents. i am a cpa i was with goodaccountants back in 2008 for a full year. they are a legit marketing companies for accountants...this how it works: they advertise nationally on google, yahoo, etc. if anyone search for keyword "accountant, tax, etc", goodaccountants website will be on the top of the list. that's how they generate their leads.
however, whether you can recoup on your investment is entirely up to the CPA. it requires some luck and public relations skill. you need luck because as i described above, goodaccountants don't actually go out and solicit, they are waiting for anyone to visit their website.....so the quality of the leads can go up and down 180.
i was lured in to them because they claim they can increase my billing by 80k a year. i invested about $18500 for their lead service. i broke even. some of the clients that i got from them are still with me today. in term of my roi, i was not the successful one.
so bottom line, they are legit but don't believe the "80k increase in billing" crap. i mean i am sure couple of the CPAs got lucky and was successful with them but most of time the clients you are going to get from them are anywhere from 800 to $2000. oh by the way, if you are in a major city, beware because they probably have several cpa signed up...which mean if they send you a lead, the other cpa with them also got the leads, you are going to have to compete.
hope this helps. - AccountantI got a call today from someone saying that they had a client to offer me from NYC. I called back the number and they are charging me a fee. I asked a few questions and the person refused to give me acceptable answers.

- BILL CPA replies to BHall CPAI'm talking with these guys at Good Accountants. Some people above say they made money and you got screwed basically. So what was the story in your case?
- peter thomasGood Accountants.com called me today. They went on and on about a new client that wanted to meet with me the next day. Then, the sales pitch - $5,000 up front.
I said, unless they gave me the name and number of the potential client, I would not pay the $5,000.
I researched them and many of the so called clients on their data base. Many were addresses in the middle of no where. And, many of the so called claims on their website were from businesses with no web sites at all.

- Jim| 2 repliesI too have enrolled the services of GoodAccountants.com. I am ashamed I was hood-winked into their story lines. But desperately trying to grow a practice can lead to desperate actions. They have the same routine when they call; "we have a great potential client for you that represents potentially $XXXXXXXX in billings. they want to meet you right away so we need to sign you up NOW!". And there it goes - $5,000 right out of the window. I did go to the meeting. This "great" client had no idea I was coming, but did talk with me. As we talked it didn't take long to understand he was no prospect at all. He had no business value to speak of, had no on going business indicators, and simply didn't have any need for a bookkeeper much less accounting services. He was not qualified at all (other than he was alive). After that debacle I had a heart to heart with Patty Schoenfeld at GoodAccountants.com. She apologized profusely, said that will never happen again, and that I will make a lot of money in this relationship with them. She also mentioned they would be implementing a customized campaign for me. Well, that was back in July this year. Since that time I've had a total of three additional referrals. Only one was a qualified prospective client. So let's look at my numbers ..... 1) less than 1 referral per month, 2) only 1 qualified referral in 5 months, 3) even if you use all referrals I've gotten qualified or not my cost is $1,250 per name. Would you invest in a business with these numbers?

- Keith GormezanoI got an unsolicited call from them about an alleged potential client.
When I called back, they wanted $5,000 for a "six month membership". Why don't they ask for a 10% of billings referral fee. I would gladly pay it for business they actually refer to me. That is what other sites have proposed to me.
I am ranked #1 on the FIndaProAdvisor website in Seattle that Intuit runs and #1-5 on Google for QuickBooks Help Seattle and related search terms. It made me wonder why the alleged client didn't look there first.- Caller: Good Accountants

- CPA Long Island NYBeware of GoodAccountants.com. They are crooks. Their new scam is a contract with an automatic renewal. They do not discuss the auto renewal and they pressure you to sign the contract. They are covert and dishonest. The fact that they pretend to represent a profession that is based on integrity is the biggest joke there is. Hang up the phone if they ever contact you. Don't be scammed like me!
