Cuts down on invalid calls and scammers know your name and address which they quote to you as to deceive you that they are legit.

This makes sense since often scammers already know your name and address. But do you know if they sell your date of birth too? Some posters for this number and other number say the scammers know. This is frightening if true since it is a prime item in Identity Theft.

Caller ID was one of those "V and a bunch of numbers indicating daytime and God knows what else". I don't answer calls like this, and suggest no one else does.

In case you didn't know it, these are called "robocalls" for a reason. It makes NO difference whether you answer or not the calls are computer generated from a bank of numbers that each one of these idiots are assigned to call. Calling names does not in any way help your cause.

I'm still trying to figure out why people feel the need to reply to posts that are clearly years old and think that the people who posted them will see their reply, in this case after 5 years.

That post is buried on page 4.  Looks like a troll to me.

Block them. If you have digital phone service,  use modem to block their number. Contact your provider, they can help you.

This number always says 'unknown'.   We got a blocker and they are still calling.   They always have a heavy accent and different voices call.

CID Potential Spam. Seems this number has been used from a variety of scammers for some time. No one there for me. Do you think it's currently a Medicare  related scam

Called me to deposit a lottery check into my bank account.  I gave them the bank account and routing numbers. Now I’m waiting for my lottery winnings to be deposited. This is so nice of them.

Yeah, if only things really happened that easy without any repercussions.
Unfortunately if you did that and they do deposit anything, it will be fake. When they call you back asking for fees or other reasons to send money to them, you will just be giving them money automatically made available by the bank's automation system, but one it gets processed and discovered to be fake, you are the one left paying back any amount beyond what you had in your account and possible fraud charges along with any penalty fees the bank adds.

This number has also been reported for the Microsoft Tech Support scams too.
