The caller ID said pay phone and displayed the number 518-399-9915 When I answered it was an automated message saying "this is a final notice that the IRS is suing you please call this number 202...." Didn't get the full number but it was a 202 area code

Total scam.  Originates in either India or Pakistan.

IRS does not file lawsuits.   Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter.  But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters.  90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively.  IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS has no powers of arrest.    If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job.  IRS does not cold call anyone and ask for money. IRS does not accept Green card money paks for payment in any case.  No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments.  Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but  usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement.    All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals.  All  contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail.

Received an automated call from 518-399-9915 stating it was the IRS and they are getting ready to file a lawsuit.  The recording said to call back their department at 206-855-3282.  The 206 # has been reported as a scam for US Grant Money. My heart fell to the ground when I heard IRS, but thankfully I was smart enough to google both numbers to find out what really was going on.

Called me saying last warning of Impending IRS lawsuit. Glad I am no dope.

Got a recorded call from this number claiming to be the IRS and they are filing a lawsuit!  My phone says this is a payphone

Received recorded message that I need to call the IRS at 202-239-6569 as I owe them money and I am hiding from the IRS.  Caller ID only has New York and the 518-399-9915 number.

I received a call from this number 1 518 399 9915 at 08:53am February 25, 2015 with an automated voice stating, "This is a final notice that the IRS is filing a law suit against you. Please call 209-243-60" then the call ended. Research says IRS phone call scams since 2013. Here is BBB we link.

a man with a foreign accent told me he was from Microsoft technical support and my computer was being used for illegal activities and I would be responsible for this. He was very forceful in trying to get me to stay on the phone, trying to shame me, then scare me. I hung up and he called right back from a number in Burbank ca. 818-843-9669

Received a call from 518-399-9915 with a recording stating it was the last attempt because IRS was suing us and we needed to call 202-241-2522. Did not call!!!! Blocking number!  Also going to block 518-533-6061

Just got a call from this number today saying that the IRS was filing a law suit against me and I needed to pay 2,000 immediately. I could barely understand anything the lady was saying. When I challenged the caller she got upset and kept yelling that I need to pay the money immediately. I hung up and reported the scam to the real IRS. I really hope people are more conscious of these traps.

I received a call from this number today.  They said they were from the IRS and that the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me and I needed to call another number immediately!

Got a call from this number with a robotic voice saying the IRS is filing a lawsuit against me and that I should call a different number with a 209 area code for "more information". They didn't verify my identity or even refer to me by name. Hung up and blocked the number.

Left message that I was being sued by the IRS

They called our home saying they were the IRS.   Stating it was a final notice that the irs is bringing legal action against us and to call for more information.  Likely a scam artist trying to get soc numbers, etc... I knew it was suspicious because we just paid our taxes, and the IRS would notify by mail!  Total scam!!!

Yep.  I got a call from this number.  Said they were from IRS and had charges against me.  I am not returning the call.

They said the same thing.  But the IS does not call. Cannot veranda these people.

I did not get to the phone in time they head on up. When I dialed that number back they said the phone number was no longer in service. I get a lot of calls from different numbers that Are like that. I wish I had the answer as to what can be done to stop these "" Robo calls ""
