I received a call from this number a little after 9 p.m. As with some of the other complaints, it was from a foreign speaking person that I could barely understand. They claimed I had a severe problem with windows operating system. Among other things from downloading music, which I have never done. They wanted full access of my computer in order to fix it. I told them to call back tomorrow night.I will have to see if I can give them a problem. From all the complaints I have read, they must be pretty busy. How dumb they must think we all are.

I love it!  How did you manage not to burst into laughter while you were tugging his chain?  I wish I could have eavesdropped on that phone call!

This number called my DNC listed landline this morning at 0918 hours.  As the overwhelming majority of phone calls I get on my landline are scam artists, I was ready.  However, I have adopted a new strategy.  I pick up the phone and wait to see if someone will speak.  In most cases, the call is a robo-message waiting for a voice to activate it, so not speaking doesn't trigger the message and the call disconnects.  Apparently the same strategy works for some live scam calls too because when I said nothing it must not have put the call through to the next available scammer because the line disconnected without a peep.  (800notes.com needs to have "scam" for a call type category.)

Same number called me but a whole different story. Saying that my name and social security number have come up and I will be issued a warrant by 10am tomorrow if I don't call Morgan and Lewis llp, and talk to attorney Robert Macium to clear up the situation. Claiming to be David Paulson of the Headquaters of Collections. He then gave me a number of 347-905-5596 to call back to resolve this issue. I haven't called back yet. Plan on calling back to have some fun with these idiots.

They have called twice this morning and when I tell them to stop and remove my number they hang up on me. Very angry about this. They say they are calling to "fix" my computer.

Caller ID said First Step Tech. Not a company or number I recognized so I didn't bother picking up and they left no message. After reading everyone else's experiences here, I kinda wish I had just so I could mess with them a little.

Received a call from this number from a Indian guy. This guy asked to speak to Lori Smith at least thats what it sounded like. I told him he had the wrong number even though he had my last name right, he then asked my name and I responded with what's your name, you called me. I guess he didn't like my answer and hung up. This is my fourth time in a week (that I know of) where someone has either tried to scam me on the phone or internet. It's ridiculous....it's to the point where I don't even want to deal with computers or cell phones. :-/

the indian female told me she was not selling anything for free, I found that to be very amusing and told her I would contact Microsoft myself to check on the "possible terrorisim on my computer, that I would be responsible for". Would like to know who is behind this foreign Microsoft plot.

    MCSE guy
Kept this "5th level tech support" guy from Microsoft on the line for 25 minutes. Did everything he asked, looked at Event Viewer, listened as he read me a CLSID ID number and he said the only way he would know that is if he was from MS. Played along until he had me go to teamviewer.com and asked me to download the client for remote control. Told him I couldn't do remote control, he said not worry (sic), MS only wants to help. I finally asked him if he knew why I spent 25 minutes on the phone with him and explained it was so that for that period of time, he couldn't screw (or something similar) anyone else. He hung up!

I just got that call. After he told me my computer was sending "errors" to "our server here at Windows," I told him I couldn't give him access because I was too busy having sex with his mother. I then explained the sex in great detail until he hung up...

    Tired of it
These scammers called yesterday from a different number saying they were Apple support.  Today its microsoft.  If Im not too busy I also like to mess around with these folks.  I put him on hold 3 or 4 times for 5 minutes at a time.  Made him say the code that he wanted me to type in the computer about a 100 times and I would repeat it back differently each time.  He grew VERY frustrated with me.  Lol....

Just got a call did not answer. These frauds have been around for years, looks like they are trying to appear more official by naming their scam company Firststep Tech.
