- Alson"Paul" called to tell me he was calling from Microsoft about a problem with my Windows computer. Paul had a very strong accent and not to stereotype did not sound like a Paul.
Ha, ha, I said.- Caller: FirstStepTech
- ClarkI received the call today from Firststep Tech. He indicated he was calling about my computer; I told the him it was a scam and told him not to call back. He asked "Who told you it was a scam..." I just hung up.
I searched and there is a First Step Tech in Linkedin and a Facebook page but I have no idea if they are connected, probably not.
I'm sure these guys / gals are just trying to sound legit and picked a name to show up on the phone that would not cause alarm.
To bad it does not show up as "Overseas Scammer"- Caller: Firststep Tech

- AggravatedThese people from Firststep Tech are really annoying. They have called our home 4 times in the last 3 days. I told them the first time they called that we did not call for any help with our computer and hung up. They called again later that evening. They are very pushy. This was a man with a very strong accent who I could barely even understand. Hung up again on them. Now they have called twice more, so when I see it is them I simply do not answer. This is so annoying when you are trying to eat a meal in peace and these people are allowed to intrude upon you with no repercussions apparently. Extremely aggravated with them for sure. I googled their name and they claim to have been in business for a year now and a non-profit. Yeah, right.

- Annoyed| 1 replyJust got a call today at work from these scammers. Asian man "Jason" claiming I had major issues with my Windows computer. Told me they were going to "fix" it and was I "in front of the computer right now" to which I responded no and I wasn't able to talk to them. I was given a phone number of 800-932-1962 to call back so they could walk me through "fixing" my computer. I am not that stupid as to let some scammer at my computer much less waste my time at work talking to these idiots. Caller ID was First Step Tech - do not pick up their call. Made my company IT dept aware of it so they can let others know about this scam.

- JenneferIndian sounding person called me claiming that my computer sent out error signal and he was calling to help me fix it. I asked how he even got my phone number and he claimed it was linked to my IP address. I told him that was impossible that I had that computer way before that phone number. He said it just is. I said well my computer is ancient and I am not going to fix it, I am just going to throw it away and get a new one. He then hung up on me.

- JoeGot a [***] call from firststep tech with an Indian accent. He was trying to gain access to my computer, saying my computer was sending malware to the microsoft server and they had to fix my computer. I told him I had 3 computers (I don't) and asked which one had the problem. Being retired I wanted to play along and waste his time. I asked him how he got my phone # since it is unlisted and he couldn't come up with a valid response. I think this is a job for Seal Team 6 !!!!!!!
