- Bette| 1 replyJust got a call they told me this is for claims info that was retained from the government and that I am being contacted for a benefit award. I told him to not to call my number again and put me on the do not call list. He told me no I will not. I told him I will be reporting this number for harassment if I get another call. I also updated my cell phone on the do not call registry. I think there is a way we can block these type calls on our cell phones, but I am not sure how to do that.
- SickNTiredThey call every day on my cell phone, which is new and so is the number, during my work hours and don't leave a real message, just a 1-2 second long one that fills up my voicemail. I am on the National Do Not Call Registry and still get these calls because they use so many different numbers. Last week, the "guy" said he was calling about an "infection on my computer"...his broke English had me asking "What?!" at least 5 times...then when I said "You called the WRONG one for this buddy!" He apologized and after I asked him to never call me again, he hung up. The next day, I got who sounded like the same guy (very deep foreign accent) and I said "Please don't ever call me again" and his reply (unbelievably) was "I will keep calling, you know why, because I love you!" Needless to say, I got angry and replied with foul language and told him to "F off you f'ing perv!" I am so sick of these people.
- Caller: Scammers of all kinds, changes daily
- SickNTired replies to BetteYou can block them all day long, but as long as they have the ability to recycle phone numbers, they will be able to continue to call you under different ones. It's sad & sickening!
- FED-UPi got 2 calls - the first at 4:22 pm ad the second at 4:23 pm. No messages. I don't answer any calls from numbers i don't recognize. They are breaking the law and it's amazing how it can't be stopped. Added it to my blocked list!!!
- SickNTired replies to LindaOk Linda, either you are extremely paranoid or someone is filling your head with BS! If you actually read the "release of information" section of the paperwork you fill out, you will see that it states that you are giving permission for the practice to communicate with your insurance company for the purposes of medical treatment/payments ONLY! To think that staff may be giving or selling patient information is ludicrous! You're basically assuming that they are violating HIPAA...for what?!?! A HIPAA violation of this severity would not be worth any amount of money for anyone.
These cold calls are computer generated by scrolling through electronic phonebooks and then a prompt screen pops up in front of the rep right as it dials the number - in hopes that they find a guppy.
Now, I'm sorry that you too are getting these calls, but please don't assume that they are caused by providers of your medical care. - SickNTired replies to Bianca| 1 replyI too had this issue. The first time they called I was scared to death fearing that I was about to be arrested and didn't know why! The guy told me where I worked and even gave their address! Said he was looking at my facebook profile and everything. He called my job and my cell for about a year leaving threatening messages. I got the police involved since he stated that he was a federal employee and was going to arrest me, the police assured me that they NEVER call someone to tell them that they were being served, the point is to catch them off guard, and they would NEVER threaten someone to pay or be arrested. I just never answered again the calls eventually stopped. Very disturbing though!
- AJNoone talked.
- Cindy| 1 replyI keep receiving calls from 561-449-8980 on my cell phone. The call doesn't actually ring, but shows where I have missed a call. I have called back twice and a lady answered with a Hello. I tell her I just received a call and she said her name is Ivy. She tells me I have had surgery and I may be entitled to some money. I said what kind of surgery and she said maybe it was bladder mesh or hip replacement. I told her no and to remove me from their calling list. I could hear lots of other operators talking in the background.
- AllisonJust called these people back twice. The man spoke with a heavy accent and said he was calling about medical compensation for an implant I had. I said what are you talking about who is this. He wouldn't give me his name and then hung up on me. I called back and the same man answered and I said don't hang up on me I want to know for what business you are calling and what do you want. He kept saying I can't hear you I can't understand you. Then he finally said he was calling about my car. I said take my number off this list and do not call me again. And he just hung up on me
- Call type: Telemarketer
- SLI have been receiving these calls for several months. The voice is always an East Indian sounding man who calls me by name and states that I'm being reimbursed for a bladder sling mesh implant that I had. I've told the person I have never had this type of procedure. He will go through a list of procedures that he thinks I might have had. He called at 7 AM this morning with the same spiel. I told him DO NOT CALL ME AGAIN, that I know this is all a scam.
- Caller: claims to be something medical
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Terresa replies to Deb| 6 repliesIt's a phishing scam. They kept calling me even though I told them flat out that I knew this was a scam. I called them back and got a computerized voice mail message identifying the call as being from US Medical Compensation Services. Looked it up and lowen behold it doesn't exist.
The callers I spoke too identified their company as Legal Medical Compensation Center and Medical Health Compensation Center. They've been getting yelled at and hung up on by me for months. So today, I decided to really mess with them by playing dumb until today's caller told me I "MIGHT" be eligible for a medical compensation settlement. I said, "Yes I already know that I am. My lawyer is working on my case right now." That screwed him up. He asked how long ago I hired my lawyer. It wasn't hard to tell this guy knew he was in a bad place and needed to be careful which questions he asked me. LOL I told him one month ago but did not give out any names or information about my case or my health status. He was not ready for that. I even went further and asked if he would like to talk to my lawyer knowing full well no criminal wants to talk to a lawyer. I was having fun listening to this fool squirm. He hung up pretty fast. LOL So even if you don't have a lawyer you don't owe these criminals anything. Find out why they are calling and tell them you already have it. They will have to stop calling once they realise you are not an easy mark. Do not answer any of their questions. Tell them to contact your lawyer. I like to give out the Attorney General's number in cases where the caller gets bold and asks for the info. If they want my address I give them the attorney General's contact info or the FBI's contact info. I never give out my real information to anyone no matter what threats they toss out. I stand my ground and call their bluff. The fact that you are being contacted about private matters should always be a huge red flag. Nigerians do not know how it works on this side of the world so be careful not to educate them. The slightest bit of information (even if it seems trivial to you) can be enough for them to steal your Identity and make millions selling it on the blackmarket to worse criminals than they are. Watch what you say to strangers on line and over the phone. If you have any new numbers to add please do so. The law can't stop them so we have to work together and share these posts to warn everyone. You can also keep up on this and other scams by joining this group and posting any info you find on these crooks. http://www.facebook.com/groups/636733296350276/ - Terresa replies to TerresaPhishing scam numbers

- Tamianth replies to SUE800notes is not affiliated with your callers, we are not calling you either. 800notes is a forum for reporting who calls you and any information you may have about the call to share with other forum users. It is highly doubtful that your callers are reading here also. We can't stop anyone from calling you either or remove from a list.
Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
