Call clicked over as if I was being switched to a person, but then message said "goodbye," and was disconnected.

I now screen most of my calls. Many, including this one, phone rings 3 times only. My friends have learned they have to leave a message, even if I am at home. My husband agrees with Nobody's fool and plays along when he has time. Today, after he gave them the state's AG NO CALL phone number simply came back on the line and said pleasantly "have a nice day". We have had three bogus calls today just in the last few hours. These overseas, spoofed calls are almost impossible for the authorities to catch, but our AG office says report them anyway.

Multiple calls from this number--one of  many numbers used from scammers offering to lower credit card interest rates.  It appears to do no good reporting them as they change numbers frequently and the calls continue.

Took about 15 seconds to say Hello finally a real person asked me " how are you today" about 3 times. Then a woman with an Indian accent started reading how to fix my credit card. I said Oh im not interested and Please Go F yourself!

Called back got the same message... called back a couple hours later - got message the number
was not a working number
enough is enough hope the crap die off soon....

This number or a similar number that shows "Survey" in caller ID has been calling all week.  When I answer no one's there and I'm certainly not going to wait until someone sees that I actually picked up the phone.  Sick and tired of these people waking me up when I'm trying to sleep.

Obviously, the National Do Not Call list only works for legitimate businesses.  Out of the last 30 calls on my caller ID, only one was legitimate.  I'm looking into purchasing a device to block these annoying calls.

female came on the line and said something to the effect 'because of the excellent way I was paying my credit card they could lower my interest rate.' I asked "what about my credit card." Was actually trying to fire-up & prepare the "SCAMMER AIR HORN" for her but the female must not have liked my question as she disconnected the call.

The National Do Not Call Registry; tells to NOT talk to, not push the buttons etc, just pick up and hang up.
I have been doing this thinking that I was "thwarting" the calls; but like Annoyed above me, the caller ID is FULL of these unwanted calls. I have notified both my state and the national do not call; about these multiples(sometimes same # 5-6x then another an additional 3-4 plus a few more thrown in (usually 15-20 a day))....I do this all day.... :-() I am on SSDI w/ Multiple Sclerosis; and this does nothing to help with staying "low" stress. If there is a machine like Annoyed mentioned above; I AM purchasing, thanks Annoyed!

You are in luck Stressed!    Google "call blocking equipment"  and you will find some very good choices.  Read all about each one since they have various capabilities and prices.   Choose the one that fits in with your greatest needs and go for it!   I have had one for a couple of years now and it works very well.

WARNING--BEWARE!!  These callers are B I G credit card criminals, known as the card service scammers. Under NO circumstances give your credit card number to these lowlifes, or it will be regretted forever!

The Panasonic DECT 6 phones block about 285 numbers and also have a feature to prevent the phone from ringing during specified hours.  Also, check out Phone Tray, a very effective call management program.  It blocks unlimited calls and plays a "phone has been disconnected" message before disconnecting the thieves.  I began using both of these tools within the last couple of weeks, and it's been so quiet and peaceful for the first time in more than a year.  Good luck.

This scammer calls numbers on the national do not call registry in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. They inform the caller that they have been selected to participate in a survey, and in exchange for the survey, if they qualify, they will be given 0% interest on their credit card debt. However, the caller refuses to provide a non-toll-free phone number when asked, and refuses to provide a physical address when asked, both required by the TCPA. They do provide a web address, but the address provided is for a domain that is not registered. This is clearly a phishing scam trying to get people's credit card information or personally identifiable information. Do not provide this scammer any information.

These guys call me at least 8-10x per week.  I'm so TIRED of it.  I usually yell at them and tell them to take me OFF of their list and that I'm reporting the number. Doesn't seem to do anything...so as of late I just ignore it.  But when it wakes up my napping kids I want to reach through the phone and strangle these people.. UGH

These dolts will not stop calling me. I am 78 years old and I  have back pain every time I have to get up to answer the phone.  These calls cause me to want to curse.

This person told me they are calling from Experian with an offer to lower my credit card debt. I asked to be put on their do not call list and they hung up on my. I can tell you I don't have credit card debt and already have very low interest rates. I'm sure they thought they could get personal information from me.

I work at home, and for a while I amused myself by giving these callers fake ID information, and for the 'phone number on the back of my credit card', I gave them the TX Atty General's office.  But now I've mostly resorted to the Call Blocker feature of my new Panasonic phones.

I work in a telecom-related industry, and I refuse to believe that these people cannot be traced given sufficient political will.
