You may well be ligit. but there is still a national do not call list and the reason people put there
names and phone numbers on it is that they do not want to be called..

I have received calls from:  573-421-7319.  When I answer whoever quickly hangs up.  When I call back I get the message that they aren't receiving messages at this time.  I did, on the last call, waited until someone (male voice) said, "Hello"  and when I asked if anyone was going to talk, they hung up.

Good Day to You All First and Foremost,

I would like to express my sincere apologies to each and every one of you for the "unwanted" calls you are receiving.  This number is a part of the five9.com agent website. Quite a few companies use this site in order to conduct business. In many cases we are employed as agents and only call numbers that are not in our do-not-call list. Most times we are not considered to be a part of that because we are a program accredited by medicare to update and help to manage our clients diabetes. The calls are cold and we simply ask if you are a diabetic only to inform the client that they do qualify to receive a meter and their supplies and medicare pays for it. We do ask for very sensitive information, however all our calls are monitored and recorded for both our protection and the potential client. Although these calls have obviously made some of you upset, i have spoken to many diabetics that didn't know they could get these supplies and was spending their very fixed income on strips, people who were very unhappy with their supply company who was sending them bills for their supplies and we were able to assist in this for them. I am expressing my very very sincere apology to each of you that may be concerned, angry, confused, or any other negative adjective that isn't consistent to what our efforts are intended for.  I am simply a single mother who is working for a living and although i know this is a very beneficial program I do not want to harass any of our seasoned citizens in the process.

these calls come from out of the country call centers and they do not care about nor do they abide by our do not call laws. I personally NEVER answer the phone unless I know the caller.  That is what voice mail is for and if they don't leave a message then it's just not important. Most of the time I just keep my phone turned off. People that really know me and know how to reach me have the appropriate number for that. My home phone is for 911 purposes and outgoing calls only so let 'em ring! They will never get answered!  It wastes there time and money so who really wins.

I got 2 missed calls while I was out, spaced about one half hours apart.  There 3rd call came, and I answered.  The same fishing about my deceased husband's need for Diabetic Supplies.  He even called him by name.  I relayed tthe fact to them about him being deceased.  The next question was, "Is there anyone else in your household a diabetic"?  My answer was a question to him.  I ask him, did he not understand my answer to him?  Of course, at first he thought he had a sucker, and even tried to clarify his new question.  My reply was to clarify to him the reason why I asked him, Did he not understand my question/statement.  He hungup quickly.  The company he stated that he was calling about was Medtronic.

Thank you Wyckette for the advice! I just logged on to The National Call list and filed a complaint. As far as the doctors giving out information - that is absolutely ridiculous. I work for a doctor and there is a little thing called HIPPA that protects patients from doctors giving out personal information!

Just got 3 calls in one hour from them (11:27, 11:59, 12:33) - left no msgs.  I looked up MedPoint Advantage in MO and found a site for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International (www.jdrfstl.org).  On this site there is an email for one Jim Price:  jr-price@att.net.  He will be getting an email shortly ... suggest everybody else being harrassed by these callers should send him one also.

Maybe instead of beginning your calls with "Is anyone in your household a diabetic?"  you might simply say that you "represent a company working with Medicare to provide diabetic supplies to those who need them, are you interested?"   ... I'm sure if somebody on the other end of the phone needed those, they would respond accordingly.   Robo-calling every 30 minutes or less is ridiculous and harrassing.  If they have to use that method to make calls, perhaps less frequent calls might be less annoying to those of us who are being called and are NOT on Medicare and DO NOT have diabetes, yet STILL HAVE OUR PHONE RINGING OVER AND OVER ....    And maybe if they didn't waste time calling those of us on the NO-CALL LIST, they could channel their time and resources into a more efficient way of contacting those who may need their assistance.

Received call today from this number.  Talked with woman who said they wanted to improve diabetic supplies with device that reads accurately.  Told her I was on the Do Not Call list.  Said said it was charity. (Charities don't have to abide by the Do Not Call List rules. Told me it was part of Medicare and was MedPlan Advantage (they know the right words to use).  I asked how they got their money.  She said medicare pays 80% and you don't have to pay the other 20%.  HA HA.  Maybe they are charging Medicare 125% so they get 100% back,, i.e., scamming Medicare.  Definitely scamming someone to make $.  Filing complaint with Do Not Call, FTC, reporting to senator and congressman and to friend who audits medicare fraud.

Be alert, check your ID and just dont answer. The name in my message is from the poster above, I hope it is correct.

Well Nicole, for all your protestations, your company is still cold-calling private citizens in violation of the No-Call laws, and FYI, your number has now been duly blocked on my phone. Any diabetic who's worth his/her salt, already HAS a meter, and the ones who don't are the ones who aren't interested in controlling their disorder.
