- Nina replies to annoyedreceived the same exact message today. Actually, they left a voicemail on my mother's home phone (we don't live together) telling me that I owe money to NY State IRS and to call 585-633-1814 and ask for Adam Spencer. I called the number a few times and received either a busy signal or a voicemail box that was full so I couldn't leave a message. It seemed suspect to me that they would be calling instead of sending a letter and that they said "NY State IRS" which doesn't even make sense. It's either IRS or NY State Tax & Finance so I decided to google the number and found this thread.
- JeniferI got a call from the same Indian man this morning he claimed his name was Mark Brown, when I finally spoke with him he told me to hang up and call back in 3 min time when I asked him why he would not answer so I hung up and called back another Indian man named David answered and when I started questioning them he got very defensive and told me there was a judgment against me with the IRS but when I said that this was a scam and very unprofessional he threatened me by saying he was calling the cops and they will be here in 1 hrs time and hung up. It has been 2 hrs now and still no cops lol the scary part about this is he knew my address, so I'm headed to pro bass shop to buy a guy, try harming me now [***]!
- J CallahanThis person called me as well, Identified himself as "Officer" someone. There is no way I could understand the name, but I have saved the message on my cell phone. He claimed I was seriously in debt to the IRS (ironic, I just rec'd my refund). I would like to identify the call as "prank"; However, the voice was severly menacing. I did call the number to see if there was a voice mail, but the voice mail was full.
- Caller: Stated IRS
- larry4-7-14..my 2nd message..same thing..guy claims his name was agent Steve Watson.. that I owed taxes from 2008. he was rude and got the same in return..asked if I was home said yes..said ok was sending police to explain to me...I said I am a cop..go ahead
- Dave replies to Anonym'Think about it. These are scammers who are sitting in their dark little rooms in India, Pakistan, and other countries and are pretty much out of reach of US law enforcement primarily because of uncooperative governments and the inability to locate them. Yet, some have been caught in the past, but alas, they get a tiny fine, pay a kick-back, and are back in business the next morning.
- MarlinThey called twice. This isn't the first time I've heard this individual's voice. He called from a different number before. I told him to F-off and quit calling. He told me (LOL) to "suck my d**k". THEN he said he was calling from the IRS!!! (still LOL... I can't help it) I laughed and told him the IRS didn't hire people with HIS accent, and no one from the IRS would say what he just did. He's persistent, and it seems he doesn't mind being reported... he just finds another phone number to use.

- PaulineL replies to S.| 4 repliesI got a call from "Daniel Clark" of the IRS this morning from this number claiming a very urgent issue that might require an attorney. The message was mostly garbled and his accent was barely understandable. Ugh.
- ToddOn Saturday at 10:47 a.m. we received a voice message from a man with a very thick Indian accent named "Yem Scargo" stating that he was calling on behalf of the Internal Revenue Service. He said there was an issue with our taxes that needed to be acted upon immediately. Warned us not to discard the message, but to call him back immediately at (585) 633-1814.

http://www.latimes.com/business/money/la-fi-m ... y#axzz2wk6O5un4 - LessaContinuous calls and voicemail from Jim Cater from IRS gave me a number to call back in morning. Also accent is so bad can't understand. Has this been reported to IRS? What can I do? I feel harassed, just lost my grandson and sister in ICU. Having to deal with this daily is frustrating. Sometimes the numbers change, I called it back voicemail was full ... Duh #leavemethehellalone

- LauraWanted to add my experience to the long list. Received a call from this number twice in 2 min this morning. They also called yesterday & talked to my husband about me & said I needed to call before they take legal action. It sounded weird when he told me about it but didn't really think about it again. Stayed home sick today and they called again twice - I just let it go to voice mail. A "Mark Brown" with a very thick accent left a message very similar to what others have reported on this site. Said something about issue with income tax in my state & good luck if I don't call back. I googled number & found this message board. I will be reporting to IRS. Very frustrating & upsetting that they can get away with it.
- Caller: supposedly the IRS

- KLE replies to S.Same here, got massage from Don Black, IRS, re, Identity theft, I dont think IRS will call and usually will send formal letter!
- PJ(585)633-1814 Unwanted call pretending to be from IRS. Cant speak English. Massage is hard to understand.
Looked it up on the web and found out that I am not the only one getting these phone calls from same nr. - ShJust received a phone message from 585-633-1814. A man name Shawn with thick accent asked us to call back. Good thing we check the web site first.
- MarioI got the same call just now - caller ID said New York, but the obvious Indian woman caller asking for my wife was certainly not a "Crystal". She said she was from the IRS and asked that I give the message to call "Crystal Data(unintelligible) by 5 today". "Sorry, she's out of the country for a while, what can I do to help?" This caller had no urgency to her voice, was not pushy, and her number is now blocked.
- Caller: fake IRS
- Lindus FarneSAME AS ABOVE. Got message at noon yesterday. Male, Indian accent claiming to be David Cook from the IRS. Named us by name and said we our "audit attorney" needed to call him immediately because they are short handed and it is extremely time sensitive. He said that if we or our attorney do not return the call then, "... I wish you good luck in your situation. Good bye and take care." Complete hoax. Not the words of the IRS or the way they work. BE AWARE.
- MikeSame as the others, although two identical messages were left on voice mail about five minutes apart. My caller identified himself as "Mark Brown" and said there was a "deficiency" in my income taxes.
- Caller: IRS (alledged)
