Higenbotham Survey - rudest people I have ever dealt with! My husband did a partial survey and it took so long he finally hung up. They have repeatedly called back. I finally answered the phone and told them my husband wouldn't be finishing the survey and she said, "Then he should be man enough to get on the phone himself and tell me that". I told them to put me on the Do Not Call List and they said they don't have to because they are not solicitors. I am reporting them to my phone company.

Report them to the Better Business Bureau. You can do it online. Maybe if they get enough reports, someone will do something about this!

I find this hillarious. I'm a college student and I work 2 jobs, one of them is at a call center that does a similar survey, it's not a scam, if it was you could report them to the better business bureau. How can they scam you if they don't have your credit card numbers, bank account numbers, etc. People are paranoid honestly. Also if you tell them to "take me off your list" we have to write down the number and add it to a list of numbers that will be excluded from any future sample. No one number is called for more than 2 or 3 weeks, your opinion isn't that important. You could also lie and say "this is a business" they're looking for residences, not businesses, and even if it's obvious that you're lying your [***] off, they have to take your word for it. of course unlike "take me off your list" that doesn't exclude your number from being generated by the computer in a future sample.  Hanging up on them is stupid, they're just gonna call you again. Ignoring the call is fine, don't get upset if they don't leave a mssg. what the heck do you expect them to say? "hi, i'm doing a survey, but this is an answering machine, and it can't do my survey... okay bye." Do-not-call lists don't apply to surveys, get over it. If you really want to avoid them entirely, most phone companies have a service that will block unidentified numbers (most survey call centers are unid'd because they're outbound only, and don't recieve calls on the survey lines) and when we get that message we just mark it as disconnected. But really and truly, was that rerun of Family Guy really so important that you couldn't possibly miss it to help a girl out and do her stupid survey?

Got call a from Higginbotham Associates, I picked it up, anticipating a call from someone different-the person form Higginbotham clearly identified himeself-purpose-"media audit and shopping patterns"- and was so polite and the questions were so innocuos (the bank question made me hesitate, but he just wanted the name only-B of A- (i'm one of ? million customers!) and moved on.  This is the first legitimate surveys i think I've ever taken.  Very friendly and professional-nobody's dream job but worth helping them out-legitmate company, legitmate survey, real Americans.

i used to work there. you people dont realize that they are exempt from the do not call laws because they do not call to sell anything.  Grow up and act your age. dont be prick and just hang up. they WILL call you back. be polite and ask them not to call again. if they mess up and dont hit the right button (which happens a lot) they may call back again. just ask them to make sure they take you out of the system. its that easy. quit crying and act like an adult. its a phone call.  not a bomb threat.

For the people who use to work at this company, I don't feel sorry for you.  I just got a call from a lady and told her (nicely) to put me on their no call list.  She then tried to go on that they weren't trying to sell anything and I told her I understand, but to put me on their no call list.  She continued and told me she was just trying to help my community.  Please!  I again told her to put me on their no call list and you know what she told me...okay, we will be calling again tomorrow!

Sounds like harassment to me.  And the call came in as a "private number" so I don't know what number to block!
