I received a call from this number - voice mail says it's  "attorney"  daniel wilson.   Then the message left on my vm said michael brown.  Do not listen to any threats made by this "attorney".   They are bogus and cannot do anything to you like have you arrested at your job.  It is pure bull.   They are bottom feeders who are just trying to scam people.

I have been called seven times by the jerk. Threating to put me in jail and black list me for seven years. He said the paper work was being filed and I would be arrested on Monday. That's is what proved it to be a scam. It wouldnt make it through the courts because of federal holiday haha. I told him that my attorney would be in touch and he hung up. The background noise was that of a busy call center and I could hear others saying the same things to other people.

Call them back over and over and harass them!  I did it all afternoon yesterday, and it was tremendous fun!  If I got the voice mail,  I left a message - mocking his accent,  saying that he should be arrested at his job,  that he was a liar,  he was a scam artist,  no it was not the state attorney's office and he was not an attorney,  etc.   It got to where he would wearily answer the phone!  Or he would answer with another name,  or another business name.  I did not let up - I was relentless. He deserved it!!

This guy has an indian accent and says his name is Daniel Wilson, a state attorney, he says I took out a loan (COMPLETELY FALSE) and says that I used fraud as a means of getting the loan. I asked for more information and he says that he is going to send an officer to pick me up. this is harassment.

I received a threatening call from Daniel Wilson and Michael Brown which in my opinion are 1 and the same.  He said that he was going to arrest me and that I committed Fraud.  I told him to tell me what exactly the charges were and he kept saying that he was going to contact the government yada yada.  The calls were becoming so frequent that I had to finally change my number.  I couldn't keep up.  This is the only info that jerk could provide me, he's from the State Attorney's office in New York.  His address is 6060 Central St Room 161, NYC, NY 10007.  His Bar number is 55236.  This jerk needs to be arrested he is sickening, the worst thing is that he has the last 4 of my ssn because I was a dumb A$$ and decided to get a payday loan.  Never again!  Somehow they obtained my information and now I have to contact all 3 bureaus.

I doubt your caller is a state attorney general or even with the office. As a rule the Attorney general of the state doesn't do debt litigation, they have bigger fish to fry - like your caller for a start!  Its not the first, nor the last time a extortion scammer has used this MO trying to extort money from people. Its not unusual for them to actually use real peoples names, address's and phone numbers. There's more then one incident reported here with real Attorneys name and business's being used and abused this way!

What you need to do is file complaints with your state Attorney general and contact this one that they gave you also. And file complaints with the FBI also. Consider buying a call blocking device or phone..

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

    Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010  FBI National Press Office
    (202) 324-3691

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.

I got a call from 607-795-7579 a few times today, didn't answer of course. He left a voicemail saying he was Mark Thomas, state attorney. He said I had a payday loan taking out and never paid. I asked him for information and he said he would get my case file, he then started reading a bunch of things I had never heard or even understood for that matter. Ridiculous. I blocked the number and I hope this solves this problem.

He called me and told me that he is going to have me arrested if I wont send him any money and that a police will come and get me before the day is over. He told me to go to my bank and after that go to Kroger so he can tell me what kind of voucher to get. He wont tell me where and he just said he is from state attorney's office and that I will go to jail for a year and they will suspend my drivers license and take my passport away.He said his name is Daniel wilson. They need to send this guy to jail or do something.
