Sooooooooooo after all that, NOMOROBO doesn't work! Some guy who came up with it walks off with $50k for something that obviously has a quick work-around. Great.

At 6:31 pm a call rang through once from 610-777-3715 with the name INT CMMNCTNS RS then 10 secons later this number came up with UNKOWN as call name and rang through to the answering machine. No message was left except for that lovely dial tone noise. Interestingly I have asked both verizon and my phone to block UNKNOWN calls too.

I want to know who is answering their phone and giving them their credit card number to make it so worthwhile for them to continue to do this. They have to be making money off just the phone calls somehow because there aren't that many stupid people out there to keep all the scammers employed.

Did not answer. Left no message.

It appears that NoMoRoBo has recognized what they're doing, and is now cutting off calls spoofing their number.  I've been called twice today by a number that NoMoRoBo has blocked, both times followed by calls from 608-371-6666.  NoMoRoBo intercepted the follow-ups as well as the originals.

TOLL FREE 800-850-2792 was blocked by Nomorobo.  Call instantly switched to "OUT OF AREA  608-371-6666".    Female voice, not distinct, asked for my husband by name, claiming he had used the internet to request a quote for car insurance.  Told him to call back to 877-845-4886.     SCAM.  Husband did not request any such information.

6/02 8:18 PDT  Really am not tech saavy, so I don't understand how they do it, but these creeps seem to be able to piggyback onto incoming calls.  Caused a legitimate call from getting thru at first but they seemed to realize there was something wrong and redialed, getting thru on second try (the legit one).

Called again today.  Got by nomorobo (reported the number on 5/6), but my blocker axed it because it starts with a 6.

Reported to nomorobo, though it seems to be doing less good.  Glad I went to a white list.

This is the nomorobo.com call in number to report a telemarketer. i am a nomorobo member.
ex: You can also report these robocallers by calling or texting the number to (608) 371-6666.
Since NoMoRobo does not call out, it is Not them.
The number is being used by scammers to scam you. Just ignore it. If you have nomorobo like I do, it only rings once.

I can tell you for certain 608-371-6666 was a call from Service Champions technician (air conditioning service.)
Seems this tech uses his cellphone and has not changed his number since coming to California from another
state.  

They called 6 more times in the last 24 hours.  4 of the calls were a "call bomb" all in the same minute.  All were blocked by either my blocker or Nomorobo.

Think this number is related to 410-384-4966, at least in Maryland. For me it's always been a 410 number calling followed immediately by the 608-371-6666. Since I wasn't around the phone not sure if NOMOROBO blocked either. Obviously some spoof to get a call through. Pretty sad that the government can come up with the technology to suck up everything from the phone companies, but cannot stop these criminals.

My first call was from 514-288-0420 followed by by 608-371-6666.  One was on VM as a hang-up

I have read many of the other comments above, and I have the same issue as most who have written here ...
I first got a call from a different phone number 866-883-0728. My NoMoRobo recognized this number as telemarketing scum, and thus hung-up on them after one ring. They then immediately called back using the phone number for this thread, but my phone rang four times and went to my answering machine. They left no message.
Caller ID reads this number as "Unknown Name."

Two calls in a row blocked by NoMoRoBo.  LOVE THESE GUYS!

Got a call first from 855-300-7877.  This was followed immediately by a call from "Unknown caller" at 608-371-6666.  They left a message, ID'ing me by name, about selling/renting a timeshare I no longer own.

Caller said he was with the Centers for Disease Control and wanted info on my children's immunizations. I don't have any children, so I told him my cat got her feline leukemia vaccination today. I did sign up for NoMoRobo today, but it didn't block this call obviously.

Left no message. First got a call from Research Center 415-363-9581 which rang once because it's blocked. Within a minute or so 608-371-6666 called which was not blocked indicating Out of Area call.

This is a new low. My local medical facility has tried calling me and is blocked after one ring. Immediately after they are blocked a call comes through from 608-371-6666 Janesville,Wi. This has happened numerous times. The medical office left a voicemail but when I received an email about the voicemail it said it was from the scammers phone number 608-371-6666. Somehow they are attaching on to a number that could be urgent. Even life or death. I refuse to answer a call from anyone this crooked and have reported it to the FCC.

These creeps called my landline tonight. Quickly hung up on them. Don't recognize the number and will never accept their call. STOP CALLING!!!

Apparently some robocallers have found a way to "beat" NoMoRobo ... temporarily!

If the initial phone number is blocked, it immediately switches over to another calling number, and ... gets through!

There is a history (since <Dec 2012) of many initial numbers from various robocallers being blocked by NoMoRobo, which then immediately switch over to this secondary number (608-371-6666) and get through.

In my case the initial # was 435-750-8797 ("Logan, UT" robocaller KnowledgePanel online survey), which was blocked by NoMoRobo; followed immediatley (17 seconds) by the call from 608-371-6666, which got through.  Here are the specific details:

  Left no message.  Googled:  SCAM!  Pages of complaints on 800notes.com.  They've figured out how to "beat" NoMoRobo ... temporarily.  When the 1st # is blocked by NoMoRobo, the call immediately switches over to the 1-608-371-6666 # to call and gets through!  Many, many complaints since January 2014.  Many different initial #s which, when blocked by NoMoRobo, immediately switch over to the 608-371-6666 # to get past NoMoRobo.Reporetd to NoMoRobo with details and reference to 800Noted.com history of such rapid # switching to defeat NMR.

Blocked. Only 1 ring..They are a nuisance.
