This number is actually used by no** more**robo to let "live" callers get through. They are given the option to dial a code and their call will go through and not be blocked. My doctor's office is in the hospital and they use a toll free number which gets blocked. They dial the code and then I can hear them on my answering machine and pick up the call. The Call Blocker on my phone is great for blocking robo calls but the scammers are catching on and using the code to get through and not be blocked.

Rang. I answered. Woman asked if this is number to receive legal documents for a Dorothy Miller. I said I don't know anyone by that name. Then rude hang up. I suspect this number is used/spoofed by multiple scammers.

Left message stating Brett Johnson has me down as a reference. I do not know a Brett Johnson.

I subscribe to Nomorobo and had reported this number previously.  When a call is blocked, Nomorobo sends a recorded message.  If the caller is legitimate, the caller must call me again and enter a code.  Then the call comes through with this number as the caller ID.  I've received 3 legitimate calls this way in the last few days.  Since I had reported the number as a nuisance, I thought a proper explanation was in order.  I'm not sure that others have had this experience but I wanted to share it.

Got a call from 608 371 6666 today about 3:30pm...this is the new and latest scam going around.  The call asked, "can you hear me"...of course I immediately hung up.  The CEO from AARP was on Dr. Phil yesterday and advised the public about this latest scam...they say "can you hear me" and when you answer "YES" apparently they record the answer and use it to steal your money.

Answered this call by mistake as I never pick up calls from people I don't know.  I answered only since I was expecting a call from my life insurance company located in Wisconsin.  This call turned out to be someone trying to sell Medicare supplimental plans.  Since I am now becoming Medicare eligible within a few months, these types of calls are continuous.  Person was kind as I explained that I have already made my selections.

I've had so many phony phone calls from this number over the years.  Sadly, I'm forced to dedicate one of my prized blocking slots to these losers...forever.

received a call from 855-922-4486 and it was blocked by nomorobo, but then 2 seconds later got a call from 608-371-6666.  Woman asked to speak to me by name, but then wanted me to give her my address to verify who she was speaking with.  Told her hell no and asked who she was.  She said she was calling about my investments.  I told her to get lost and never call me again.

I repeat from the last time they called....What a joke!!  6666 right!!  Didn't answer and Robo program caught it.  Thank you Aaron Foss....

It seems from reading these posts that at least 2 phone numbers are related in some way: 608-371-6666 and 213-228-5380. I received calls from both numbers within a minute apart. While some of these callers may be spam, in my case, the calls seem legitimate. I placed an order with World Pet Express, supposedly located in Canada (have used them many times before). Message left said to call World Pet Express at 888-798-9128 to confirm shipping address. Since I recently moved, this sounded plausible. I called and confirmed the order address. Hopefully, I didn't make a mistake.

Called Last night but caught by Robo program so heard nothing!!   Thank You Aaron Foss!!

Got through my robocall and I answered with "What the hell do you want?" She said "oh really" and hung up.

Called home phone (out of area) a few times today.  Caller ID: Janesville, WI.  Interesting that if you call them back, it's an automated recording that says "Welcome to the <certain call blocking service> report line.  Please enter the number that called you.  Press the # sign when finished."  I'm guessing these guys are pretending to be a call blocking service to throw you off.

when nomorobo intercepts a call they play a message that includes a random number, if a human enters the random number (called a CAPTCHA) the call continues with the caller ID  +16083716666.

I get calls from this number several  times a day. I don't answer them and I want them stopped. My  telephone company ha put a stop totheir caling , it rings and then no more.  I DON'T WANT THESE CALLS, SO STOP BOTHING ME. Getting a call number is confirmation that Nomorobo is working.  A telemarketer likely JUST CALLED right before and it was intercepted.  They  immediately tried to get through again and you'll see the phony caller ID with the 6083716666 number.

Caller ID showed JANESVILLE WI. Caller said he was calling from dine-rewards. Blocked.

This number showed up on my caller ID while I was talking with a friend. The phone number 512-757-8161 (already a thread here on this number) showed up right before 608-371-6666. Since I am a user of Nomo, I want to thank 800notes users for explaining about this number.
