I was receiving calls from another area code 610 # when I attempted to answer there would be dead air. I blocked that # from my cell phone. The next day I began getting calls from this # with the same result (to date I have received 15 calls on a daily basis). I filed a complaint with the FTC. maybe if we all did that the FTC will take a serious look @ the business practices of this idiot. I have no outstanding debt, so I have no idea who this is. I filed the complaint with the FTC thru the do not call registry

I never received any calls from this number. Until today they called about 30x. I know i don't owe any debts so i called it back & they girl said "give me your number?" I gave them my number & they asked if i was so & so & i said no & she asked if i knew them & i said no & she said "ya dumb [***]" & hung up. So yea, I would trust this company. The girl i dealt with her name was Tiffany. An Adam called again later & left a messaging stating if i knew this person they were looking for & holding back that Id go to jail.

Midland Funding is a debt buyer, FNCB is a collector which could be hired by a debt buyer. So that part does make sense.

You don't need a valid debt or a derogatory trade line on your credit reports to be hassled by debt collectors. They call third parties to alleged debtors all the time for permitted skip tracing purposes, or often pretending it's a trace to annoy and shame an intended target whose location is already known.

The worst of the industry, often collecting on junk paper from debt buyers, frequently work from corrupt and outdated files. Yet they press on with accusations and trickery until someone, anyone pays.

This "brilliant idea" can leave a person with zero ammunition when later sued for some old debt after blocking and ignoring weeks of collection calls. State and federal laws which govern third party collectors give you the option of limiting or banning an agency's calls *at their source*. You can also demand proof of their claims and spank them in court when your rights are denied.

So much for your attention to detail. The federal Do-Not-Call registry exists to help enforce the Telemarketing Sales Rule. Please note the operative term ''marketing''. A debt collector is not a sales person and is therefore not covered. Here are the DNC service terms you were supposed to review at registration time:

} debt validation and the company has 30 days to send paperwork

That's only true for Texas residents. The 30-day clock under FDCPA is for *alleged debtors* to send a written dispute in reply to an initial dunning letter with required disclosures. The collection agency must reply with debt validation to lift the suspension on collection activity which that dispute enables. Sometimes, as you've said, agencies won't bother validating and quietly slink away.

Other agencies may come along as noted, and it's lather-rinse-repeat ... also cheaper and simpler than fighting a creditor lawsuit.

If by "no call" you meant the federal Do Not Call registry, you have the wrong impression of what it does. The federal Do-Not-Call registry exists to help enforce the Telemarketing Sales Rule. Please note the operative term ''marketing''. A debt collector is not a sales person and is therefore not covered. Here are the DNC service terms you were supposed to review at registration time:

Per the FDCPA and whatever similar state law you have, alleged debtors can lock off some or all phone contact from debt collectors like FNCB as "inconvenient", which certainly applies to you. Verbal demands won't go far with known lawbreakers. Get on a paper trail and make Certified Mail your new friend.

FNCB won't "get nailed" for anything improper (spelling corrected) until you swing the hammer. The FDCPA grants private right of action. When your rights are denied and you have solid records of that, sue the offender yourself at little or no cost.

As I told Milly up there, the DNC list does not apply.

Consider suing for the abusive and simply untrue remarks. Consumer debt in America is NOT a criminal concern. That conduct is prohibited by the FDCPA even if you're not the alleged debtor.

Your callers do not maintain this site or this web page. Your callers cannot magically determine which numbers should not be called based on anonymous comments. You cannot expect compliance with your orders until, if possible, you deliver them *directly* to your caller.

There's a smarter way to approach your problem. You have laws to help you:

    Nadine and Michael:

You have to handle this yourselves. No one reading here can "please" do anything to halt your skip trace calls. My advice for "not me" cases is found here:

Yeah, woo-hoo. You realize FNCB controls more than one phone number, right? It could set up a cheap new VOIP number just for you. It's more efficient to choke off the calls at their source, one of many provisions of the FDCPA you can use.

I answered since 610 is my area code.  However, met with silence.  Maybe it was computer dialed & they were checking that my number was a live number...damn!  Now, I will wait to see if they call back, but won't answer next time.

Obviously They are a company who is a harassment agency, They keep calling a business and if they call this business one more time I will have to call an attorney and get them on harassment. They keep calling and leaving some automated message with some scare tactic.  yes I left messages on my phone and it is on my phone that you called from different locations to offset your being  known . I ignore calls from this number cause they keep calling for this person. my phone number must have been in existence for along time before we got this number.
